The 2026 WWE Royal Rumble is over: Roman Reigns won the men’s match and Liv Morgan won the women’s match in Riyadh on January 31. WWE’s official event and results pages confirm those outcomes, but do not publish sportsbook odds or identify a “surprise frontrunner.” A top-10 betting-favorites list cannot be verified from those sources.
Who were the betting favorites for the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble, and who was the surprise frontrunner?
The official WWE sources available confirm event details, entrants announced ahead of time, and the winners. They do not provide pre-event betting prices or a ranked list of favorites. Without a dated sportsbook or odds-aggregation source, no names can responsibly be presented as the verified top 10 or as a surprise betting frontrunner.

The phrase “top 10” also needs a market: WWE held separate men’s and women’s 30-person matches, so a meaningful historical odds ranking would need to specify which match it covered. It would also need to identify the sportsbook or odds aggregator, the timestamp, the geographic market, and the odds format. A winner, an announced entrant, or fan discussion is not evidence of betting odds.
What happened at the 2026 Royal Rumble?
The 39th annual Royal Rumble took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, January 31, 2026. WWE described it as the first Royal Rumble held outside North America. The event featured two 30-person battle royal matches, one men’s and one women’s; each winner earned a championship match opportunity at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. WWE’s event announcement

- Men’s winner: Roman Reigns, who eliminated Gunther last.
- Women’s winner: Liv Morgan, who eliminated returning Tiffany Stratton.
WWE’s official results report names both winners and records the final eliminations.
What WWE announced before the men’s match
In a January 16, 2026 announcement, WWE named Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Gunther, Brock Lesnar, Jey Uso, Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Penta, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Austin Theory, Je’Von Evans, and Oba Femi as declared men’s entrants. WWE also indicated that additional Superstars could join, so this announcement was not a complete final field—and it was not a betting ranking. WWE’s men’s match announcement

How the Royal Rumble elimination rule works
WWE’s match description says the men’s match begins with two Superstars and that new entrants arrive at timed intervals. A wrestler is eliminated after going over the top rope and touching the floor with both feet; the last wrestler remaining wins. WWE’s match rules and announcement
What this means for anyone looking for historical odds
Since the event has concluded, any odds list found now would be a historical snapshot, not current betting guidance. Before relying on one, check that it was published before the event and clearly states whether it covers the men’s or women’s match, the operator or aggregator, the timestamp, the region, and the odds format. The official WWE pages cited here do not establish those odds details.
