The strongest affiliate websites make recommendations part of a useful answer: a tested product guide, a comparison tool, a travel-planning resource, or a recipe with relevant kitchen equipment. The 20 examples below come from Hostinger’s April 27, 2026 roundup and Shopify Staff’s May 6, 2026 roundup. They are editorial selections—not an independently measured ranking—and illustrate different ways to connect useful content with relevant referral offers.

20 affiliate marketing website examples for 2026

These examples span large editorial publishers, focused creators, comparison tools, and finance sites. The descriptions below reflect how Hostinger and Shopify characterize them; they do not establish that every named site currently uses a particular affiliate program or monetizes every link.

  1. The Verge

Shopify describes The Verge as combining technology coverage with product reviews and buying guides. Its model brings purchase-oriented recommendations into a broader technology publication.

  2. Wirecutter

Shopify characterizes Wirecutter as known for hands-on product testing and transparent affiliate relationships in its articles. The transferable idea is to make the basis for a recommendation and the commercial relationship visible to readers.

  3. RTINGS

Shopify includes RTINGS among its examples of affiliate websites. It illustrates a focused product-review publisher; the roundup does not specify further details about its current referral arrangements.

  4. PCPartPicker

PCPartPicker helps readers choose and compare computer components. A comparison tool can serve as the core value of an affiliate site, rather than making the site depend only on conventional review articles.

  5. NerdWallet

NerdWallet compares financial products and uses tools and explainers across finance topics. That model fits readers weighing choices such as cards or other financial products, where useful context and comparison matter before an application decision.

Hostinger reports that NerdWallet recorded $687.6 million in revenue in 2025, attributing the figure to the company’s financial reports. This is Hostinger’s reported figure, not an independently verified financial statement here.

  6. The Points Guy

Shopify describes The Points Guy as focused on travel rewards, cards, and loyalty programs. Its subject matter links travel planning with financial and loyalty decisions.

  7. Millennial Money

Millennial Money is one of the finance-oriented examples in Shopify’s roundup. It demonstrates how a publisher can build affiliate content around personal-finance questions; the roundup does not establish specific current partners or terms.

  8. Nomadic Matt

Shopify includes Nomadic Matt among travel creators whose destination and planning content can connect readers with booking, insurance, or other travel-related offers.

  9. The Blonde Abroad

The Blonde Abroad is another travel creator named by Shopify. The broader model is to pair destination expertise and trip-planning content with relevant travel referrals, rather than treating every link as a generic promotion.

  10. Expert Vagabond

Shopify’s travel examples also include Expert Vagabond. It represents a creator-led approach in which travel advice can lead naturally to useful planning or booking options.

  11. Apartment Therapy

Apartment Therapy connects design and home content with product recommendations, according to Shopify. Home inspiration can be useful on its own while also helping readers find items relevant to a room or project.

  12. The Spruce

Shopify describes The Spruce as using product roundups and recommendations embedded in home-improvement instructions. That puts a possible purchase close to the task it helps readers complete.

  13. Into The Gloss

Into The Gloss appears in Shopify’s beauty and editorial examples. It shows how a focused publication can build recommendations around a distinct subject and audience; the roundup does not specify every monetization method.

  14. TheSkimm

Shopify includes TheSkimm among its examples of affiliate websites. It is a reminder that affiliate content can live within a broader publisher’s editorial offering, rather than only on a site built exclusively for product reviews.

  15. Byrdie

Byrdie is one of the beauty publishers in Shopify’s list. A category-focused site can organize recommendations around the questions and product choices its audience already has.

  16. Serious Eats

Shopify names Serious Eats among its food-focused examples. The model places commerce within a subject area where readers may need equipment or ingredients to act on the content.

  17. Cookie and Kate

Cookie and Kate links kitchen equipment from recipes, Shopify reports. This is contextual placement: a tool recommendation can appear where it supports the cooking task rather than in an unrelated product list.

  18. Half Baked Harvest

Shopify describes Half Baked Harvest as connecting site content and social profiles with affiliate links. That illustrates how a creator may distribute content across channels; it does not mean every social post or link is monetized.

  19. Verywell Fit

Hostinger includes Verywell Fit in its 20-example roundup. It adds a health-and-fitness subject area to a list otherwise spanning finance, technology, travel, home, beauty, and food.

  20. Additional niche examples in Hostinger’s roundup

Hostinger says its selection spans multiple niches and includes NerdWallet and Verywell Fit, among others. Its page presents 20 examples, but the current source information summarized here does not identify the remaining names. Hostinger says it verified traffic and domain metrics using Ahrefs; that is its stated selection method, not a fresh independent audit.

What the examples reveal about affiliate website models

The useful comparison is not simply which site appears largest or most commercial. A tested electronics guide and a finance calculator solve different problems. Compare a model by the reader’s need, the content format, the evidence or tools supporting its recommendations, how close it brings the reader to a purchase or application decision, the referral category, and how clearly it discloses a commercial relationship.

How affiliate marketing websites make money

An affiliate website can earn a commission when a reader follows a referral link and completes a qualifying purchase or other program-defined action. The merchant or program sets the qualifying actions and commission terms. Amazon’s U.S. Associates overview, for example, says qualifying websites or apps may apply and that qualifying purchases and program actions can earn commissions; approval depends on meeting program requirements, and rates vary by product category. Neither an example site’s participation in Amazon Associates nor its commission terms should be inferred from its content.

For a personal-finance publisher, the central editorial test is whether the recommendation helps the reader make a better-informed choice. A comparison or calculator should clarify relevant trade-offs; a guide should explain who an option may suit and what to check. Commercial referral links should not obscure costs, eligibility conditions, or other facts needed to decide.

Affiliate disclosures: what publishers should tell readers

The FTC says publishers should disclose their relationship to a retailer clearly and conspicuously so readers can weigh an endorsement. It gives “I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post” as an example and warns that saying only “affiliate link” may not adequately communicate that the publisher is paid. Put the disclosure where readers can connect it to the recommendation and link, not somewhere they are unlikely to notice. See the FTC Endorsement Guides FAQ.

Amazon Associates requires a clear, conspicuous disclosure near affiliate links or product reviews, as well as the site statement: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.” These are Amazon program requirements; other programs may have their own terms. See Amazon Associates’ disclosure guidance and its U.S. program overview.

How to use these examples when building a site

  1. Choose a specific reader problem

Decide what the audience needs to accomplish—compare financial products, select computer parts, plan a trip, complete a home project, or cook a recipe. A defined problem makes it easier to choose a helpful format and relevant referral category.

  2. Pick a format that can genuinely help

Use a tool when readers need to compare options, a guide when they need explanation, and a contextual product recommendation when an item supports a task. The example sites show several formats; they are not interchangeable.

  3. Make the basis for recommendations understandable

Explain what a comparison covers, what a tool can and cannot determine, or why a product is relevant. Do not imply testing, expertise, or an evaluation process that the publisher has not actually carried out.

  4. Place referrals and disclosures in context

Keep links relevant to the information around them, and disclose a commission relationship clearly where readers encounter the endorsement. Verify the current requirements of each program before publishing its links.
