The money came from individual investors rather than venture funds, according to that report. The company’s model is a preventive check-up carried out at a physical center and followed up through an app. The company officially spells its name Zoī, and this article uses “Zoi” to match the headline.
The 2022 launch description and the company’s current official pages do not describe the offer in identical terms, so this article keeps the two apart. Facts about the funding and the original plan come from the 2022 reporting. Statements about today’s offer come from Zoi’s official pages, accessed October 8, 2026.
The 2022 funding round at a glance
TechCrunch reported that Zoi closed $23 million (€20 million) in seed funding and that the company chose not to take venture-capital money for the round. The report named Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel and Orpea founder Jean-Claude Marian among the investors. Those investor roles are as reported in 2022; the report is the source for them, and this article does not verify them independently.

Who runs Zoi
The 2022 report identified Ismaël Émélien, a former special adviser to Emmanuel Macron, and Paul Dupuy as co-founders. Zoi’s current team page still names Émélien as CEO and co-founder and describes his earlier government role. The pages reviewed do not state Dupuy’s present position, so readers should not assume he holds the same role today.

What the service does
The 2022 proposal
At launch, the concept combined routine health assessments at physical centers with a mobile app. TechCrunch described blood sampling and checks of vision, hearing, heart health, and other areas. Results were to be analyzed, and users would receive personalized guidance. The company framed the offer as a way to support health habits and spot useful signals over time, not as a new treatment or medicine.
The 2022 article described plans, not a verified track record. It said the first clinic was expected by the end of 2022. Launch timelines and feature lists from that period should be read as the company’s plans at the time.

The current offer
Zoi’s current strategy page describes prevention and early detection, with a particular focus on people aged 40 to 70. The company states that it is not a care-and-treatment center, not a general-medicine or specialist-medicine practice, and not a service for long-term follow-up of chronic conditions. Anyone managing an existing condition needs to keep their regular clinician in the loop.
The comprehensive assessment includes 12 months of personalized follow-up, according to the company’s offer page. The same page says an employee check-up can be part of a prevention, performance, or wellbeing program.

What you pay and who pays
Zoi does not publish a single price in the pages reviewed. For individual buyers, the company says the subscription is paid directly by the consumer and recommends asking your insurer whether any part is reimbursed. For companies, the offer is structured differently, and the pages reviewed do not state its terms.
| Question | Individual purchase | Employer program |
|---|---|---|
| Who pays | The consumer, via subscription (company offer page) | The employer requests the offer through the company’s contact form; pricing not stated |
| Reimbursement | Company recommends asking your insurer; coverage not confirmed by the company | Not stated |

Checklist before you subscribe
- Confirm the current subscription price and whether it renews automatically.
- Ask the company in writing which tests are included in the assessment and which are extra.
- Check with your insurer whether any part of the cost is reimbursed, and get the answer in writing if possible.
- Confirm that the center you would visit is open and accepting new clients, since the pages reviewed do not provide a complete, independently verified location list.
- Read the cancellation and refund terms before paying, because the pages reviewed do not describe them.
Company-reported figures
Zoi’s data page shows four figures. They are company statements, not independent audits, and the page does not give a reporting year for any of them:
Rank #4
- ✅【Convenient to use】The compact and neat design of the automatic blood pressure monitor measures your health with one touch. Just press the button and wait for the result. The large, 5.7" LED display makes reading and understanding results easy. Wear a long, adjustable XL cuff that measures 8¾-16½ in (22-42 cm) on your forearm. A warning message is displayed if the cuff is not fitted properly, so you can take measurements with confidence. Check the OK symbol on the monitor.
- ✅【Smart Healthcare】 The measurement data can be transmitted to the "HealthHub" app via Bluetooth. Unlimited stored real-time data reliably records your health. Via the app, you can set reminders for each measurement routine or insert brief notes on your results. Manage your health systematically through records. The application can be downloaded from both Google Play and App Store. 💟 You can quickly find the app by searching “HuBDIC HealthHub” in the App Store.
- ✅【7-day Monitoring trend】 You can check the blood pressure trend, which is the measurement record for the past 7 days, at a glance on the monitor as a graph. You can see the average daily change in systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as the highest and lowest values for the week. You don't even have to enter the app! Compare your previous results to see how your blood pressure trends are changing. This will help determine your current health status and support a healthy lifestyle.
- ✅【3 User Mode】 Was it inconvenient because the records were mixed up every time someone else used the product? The HuBDIC blood pressure monitor easily switches between 2 users with a single button and stores each data separately. Each account can store up to 250 memories for long-term use. Temporarily convenient guest mode does not take up memory space. Multiple users can preserve and use family health records without colliding data.
- ✅【Ready to use out of box】 No cumbersome preparation is required to use the product! There are two power options: AA batteries and a USB-C type cable. Four AA batteries are included in the package, so you can use it right out of the box. A detailed manual and QR code are included for convenient and accurate use. (USB cable must be purchased separately.)
- More than 12.5 million data points analyzed (company-reported; reporting year not stated).
- More than 5,000 check-ups completed (company-reported; reporting year not stated).
- More than 80 medical experts (company-reported; reporting year not stated).
- 7 scientific publications (company-reported; reporting year not stated).
Treat these as scale indicators. They do not show clinical outcomes or whether the service changes health results for individual users.

TechCrunch quoted Émélien, identified in the report as co-founder and CEO, describing the concept: “It’s a hybrid model that is physical and digital — we’re going to open centers and we’re going to collect data ourselves.”

The report also quoted Dupuy on the planned data analysis: “We’re going to create the tools that will lead us to predictive algorithms. We’ll be able to improve our data analysis continuously.” This describes the company’s intended approach at the time. It is not evidence that the company’s predictions perform well in practice.
How the company says it handles health data
Zoi’s data page says it separates health data from identity and uses pseudonymisation. Its FAQ says customers own their health data and describes sharing with care professionals, partner laboratories, and necessary service providers. These are the company’s own privacy statements. The sources reviewed do not include an independent security audit or a legal compliance review, so the statements should be checked against the company’s current privacy terms before you share sensitive information.
Where the service is available
The 2022 report expected the first clinic by the end of that year. The company’s FAQ says it plans additional centers, particularly outside France. The sources reviewed do not establish a complete or independently verified list of current locations, so confirm availability directly with the company before planning a trip or assuming coverage in your area.
Quick Recap
How to weigh it against your budget
- Treat it as a paid preventive check, not a replacement for coverage you already have. Compare the cost with the routine screenings your health plan already covers.
- Check reimbursement first. If your insurer does not reimburse any of the subscription, the full cost falls on you.
- Look at employer programs before paying directly. If your employer offers a prevention or wellbeing benefit, the terms may differ from the individual offer, and the company says it invites companies to request information.
- Ask for the terms in writing. Price, renewal, included tests, and cancellation rules were not established in the material reviewed for this article.
