There is no current, independently verified net worth for Yuvraj Singh. The only published personal wealth figure we could find is an estimate of around ₹146 crore (roughly ₹1.46 billion) in a November 2017 issue of Opinion Express. It is nearly nine years old as of October 2026, it comes from a secondary magazine, and the issue does not explain how it was calculated. Treat it as a dated media estimate, not a balance sheet.
The only published figure and what it is
The number most often repeated online traces back to the November 2017 issue of Opinion Express, which estimated Singh’s net worth at around ₹146 crore. The same issue also makes claims about his IPL pay, endorsements, property and investments. None of those accompanying claims are backed by an audited personal balance sheet or a stated valuation method in the issue, so they should not be repeated as established fact.
A figure like this carries four limits that matter for any reader:
- Age: it describes his position in late 2017, before several years of further earnings, spending and investment changes.
- Source type: it is a secondary editorial estimate, not a disclosure made by Singh or by a financial institution.
- Method: the reviewed issue gives no breakdown of assets, liabilities, or how income was projected.
- Scope: it is not stated whether the number is gross career earnings or net assets after liabilities. Those are very different measures.
Why no current verified total exists
A net worth figure needs a balance sheet: assets such as property, investments and business interests, minus liabilities such as loans. Public sources rarely publish that for private individuals. Singh has not, to our knowledge, released a personal financial statement, and no official filing we could locate discloses his assets or debts. Any current number you see online is therefore either a fresh estimate by a website, which is usually unsourced, or a repeat of the 2017 figure.
#1 Best Overall
That is why this article does not offer a new number. Inventing or averaging estimates would make the result look more precise than the evidence allows.
What the ₹7 crore IPL price does and does not tell you
Many searches pair Singh’s name with IPL money, so it helps to be clear about one specific fact. The Indian Premier League’s official 2016 auction report records Sunrisers Hyderabad acquiring Yuvraj Singh for ₹7 crore (₹70 million). That is a contract price for one auction and one season.
Rank #2
It is not his net worth, and it is not his lifetime earnings. A player’s auction fee is the amount of a single contract, before tax, agent commissions, and any other deductions, and it says nothing about what he kept, saved, invested or owed. Adding up several contract values across a career would still produce gross income, not net worth, and that total is not published in the sources we checked.
YouWeCan is not his personal wealth
Singh founded the YouWeCan Foundation, which its official site describes as a non-profit focused on cancer control in India. The foundation publishes audited financial statements by year, and those statements cover the organization. They do not show Singh’s private assets, liabilities or income.

In an ICC interview, Singh described the foundation’s purpose this way: “With my YouWeCan Foundation, I am trying to do what I can to help with treatments for people who have been diagnosed with cancer.” That is a statement of charitable intent. It is not evidence of how much money he personally holds or spends.
How to judge any net worth figure you find
Use the same checklist for Singh or any celebrity estimate:
Rank #4
| Check | What to look for | Applied to the 2017 ₹146 crore estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Publication date | Whether the figure is recent enough to reflect current holdings | November 2017, so about nine years old at the time of writing |
| Source type | Primary disclosure versus secondary reporting | Secondary magazine estimate |
| Method | Stated calculation or breakdown of assets and liabilities | Not stated in the reviewed issue |
| Gross or net | Whether the figure is career earnings or assets minus liabilities | Not stated |
| Personal or organizational | Whether the number belongs to the person or to a charity or company | Presented as a personal estimate; no organizational accounts involved |
If a website gives a precise figure with no date, no source and no method, treat it as unverified.

If you want to understand Singh’s career and his cancer diagnosis in his own words, his autobiography The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back was released in 2013. It is a biography, not financial evidence, and it does not support or correct any wealth estimate.

Best Value
When a verified personal balance sheet is published, it would come from Singh himself or from a formal disclosure. Until then, the 2017 estimate is the only published figure, and it should be read with its date and method limits in view.
