IKEA U.S. does deliver online orders, but the option you get, its price, and its date depend on your ZIP code, the products in your cart, and the total of your order. Nothing about delivery is fixed in advance. The only reliable answer is the one shown at checkout, so the practical sequence is to build your cart, enter your address, and read the delivery choices and exact fee before you commit to anything.
Check your delivery options at checkout first
IKEA’s U.S. pricing guidance does not publish one delivery fee that applies to every customer. It tells shoppers to find the cost for their own order. Follow these steps to see what applies to you:
- Add the items you intend to buy to your IKEA U.S. shopping cart.
- Go to the checkout section and enter your state and ZIP code.
- Read the delivery methods offered for that address and that cart, and note the fee shown for each one.
- Confirm the earliest date shown for each method before you pay.
Because the options are tied to your location and your products, the same cart can show different choices for a neighbor in another ZIP code. If a method you expected does not appear, that is usually a result of the address, the stock, or the order contents rather than an error on your side.
Know the minimum order and what it excludes
IKEA U.S. requires a merchandise subtotal of at least $35 for all shipping and delivery options. The subtotal is measured after discounts, coupons, credits, and promotions. Gift cards, taxes, shipping and delivery fees, assembly fees, and other service fees do not count toward that $35.

IKEA’s FAQ also says it does not offer free shipping. IKEA Family members can receive savings on select online delivery options, but those savings depend on the current offer shown to the member, so check the cart while signed in to see whether they apply to your order.
Understand the delivery methods
IKEA separates small parcels from large items. Smaller products ship by parcel. Large-item orders may show several home-delivery choices, and the ones you see depend on the address, stock, and cart. The table below describes each method in terms of where the items end up and who is responsible for moving them.

Two points matter when you choose. Doorstep service and in-home service are different: a doorstep drop-off leaves the work of moving items with you, while in-home service includes placement in the room you select. Also, IKEA recommends parcel for smaller items and home delivery for larger or bulky ones, so a cart with both kinds of products may be split or may show only the home-delivery choices.

Where IKEA delivers
IKEA’s U.S. FAQ states that it does not currently offer shipping and delivery outside the continental United States. Its options guidance adds that PO Boxes and APO addresses are not eligible for delivery. If your address falls into a restricted category, the checkout page will show whether a method is available; IKEA customer support can confirm an address that is unclear.
Online delivery orders ship from central warehouses chosen by ZIP code, not necessarily from the store nearest you. A product that appears in stock at a local store may still show a later date for home delivery, because the online order is fulfilled from the warehouse serving your ZIP code.
Plan around the delivery date
The earliest date at checkout is an estimate. Availability and location determine it, and IKEA does not guarantee it. The delivery provider may contact you to confirm the scheduled date and window, so keep your phone and email reachable after you order.

To track an order, use IKEA’s Track & Manage tool with your order number and the email address or phone number linked to the order.
Prepare for the delivery and inspect the order
- Make sure the delivery address and access instructions are accurate, and keep the path from the delivery point to the room clear.
- For home delivery, IKEA’s guidance describes an adult aged 18 or older being present for the in-home process, so plan to have one available during the window.
- Compare the packages with the item list in your order confirmation before the driver leaves, and note any damage on the paperwork at the time of delivery.
- If something is missing or damaged, check the order confirmation and article numbers, then contact IKEA U.S. customer support.
- If the tracking page shows an order as delivered but you did not receive it, contact IKEA U.S. support rather than waiting for the status to change.
Changes after you pay
Once payment has been collected, IKEA says it cannot change the delivery service. Items also cannot be added to a paid order. Support may be able to place a separate order for additional items, but IKEA does not guarantee that the two deliveries will be combined.
Removing items, cancelling, and rescheduling depend on where the order sits in processing or shipping. Use Track & Manage to manage or cancel an order that still allows it, and contact IKEA support to reschedule or to ask about an exception for your order.

What this does and does not establish
These details come from IKEA U.S. pages accessed in 2026. Prices, delivery schedules, eligibility rules, and service areas change, and this article does not describe any delivery outside the United States or any personal ordering experience. Treat the checkout screen as the final word for your own order.
Furniture assembly is a separate service. IKEA’s services page lists Taskrabbit assembly, which is booked independently of delivery, and assembly fees do not count toward the $35 minimum.
If you are comparing IKEA delivery with the cost of buying elsewhere, add the checkout fee to the subtotal and compare the full figure, not the product price alone. That is the number that determines whether IKEA delivery makes sense for your budget.
