For most readers, Yahoo Small Business is not a wise investment to make on the strength of the name or old reviews alone. The brand was renamed Verizon Small Business Essentials in 2021, and the former portfolio was acquired by Infinite Computer Solutions in 2022. A 2020 review of Yahoo Web Hosting is historical, not evidence of what you can buy or what it costs today. Current availability, operator, pricing, and terms are not established by the available announcements, so verify those before committing.
What happened to Yahoo Small Business?
Yahoo Small Business announced on November 17, 2021, that it would adopt the name Verizon Small Business Essentials. The company described the change as a rebrand; Chris Wayne, then Managing Director at Verizon Small Business Essentials, said, “While our name is changing, our mission and commitment to our customers is not.” That was a statement at the time, not independent evidence of current service quality. Read the announcement.
On June 20, 2022, Infinite Computer Solutions announced it had acquired the former Yahoo Small Business Essentials portfolio from Verizon. The release listed e-commerce, web hosting, domain names, website-builder solutions, and marketing promotions. An acquisition announcement establishes a transfer at that time; it does not confirm that every product is still available, identify the present operator of each service, or provide current customer terms. Read Infinite’s announcement.
Yahoo’s broader corporate transition is separate: Yahoo announced on September 1, 2021, that Apollo-managed funds had completed the acquisition of Yahoo, formerly Verizon Media. That announcement does not establish who later operated the small-business portfolio. Read Yahoo’s announcement.

Is Yahoo Small Business still available in 2026?
The documented name change and portfolio acquisition do not answer whether a new customer can sign up for any former Yahoo Small Business service in 2026. They also do not establish the current legal operator, plan lineup, renewal terms, support arrangements, or cancellation and migration policies. Treat “Yahoo Small Business” as a legacy brand name unless a current service page and contract identify what is actually being offered.
Before paying, confirm the provider and terms directly in current signup and account documents. If you cannot establish who will provide the service and what you are agreeing to, you cannot make a sound value-for-money comparison.

What the 2020 Yahoo Web Hosting review can—and cannot—tell you
TechRadar published its Yahoo Web Hosting review on September 9, 2020. It is useful as a snapshot of the product reviewed then, but TechRadar’s editor’s note says Yahoo exited web hosting and website building. Its historical plans, prices, and test results should not be treated as current. Read the 2020 review.
Features and limitations reported at the time
TechRadar described a template-based site builder, a custom control panel rather than cPanel, file management, backup and restore tools, SSL setup, and WordPress installation on supported plans. The reviewer said the entry-level hosting plan lacked database access and criticized the site for sparse technical and pricing details. The review also discussed old site-builder packages and an e-commerce plan, but those descriptions do not establish today’s features or availability.

TechRadar reported 100% uptime and a 403 ms average response time in its own seven-day test of a test site in 2020. The reviewer characterized the response time as below average. This was one reviewer’s short historical test—not a service-level guarantee, a current benchmark, or a prediction of your site’s performance.
How to decide whether a current successor service is worth paying for
If you find a service presented as a continuation or successor, evaluate the offer itself rather than relying on the Yahoo name or 2020 review. Get the following details in writing and compare the full cost and capabilities with other providers you are considering.

- Total cost: Check the first-term price and renewal price, billing frequency, taxes or mandatory fees, and separate charges for a domain, email, backups, SSL, or e-commerce features. Do not use prices from the 2020 review as a quote.
- Included capacity and features: Verify storage, site and database limits, backup frequency and restoration options, security features, and whether the plan supports your required site builder, WordPress setup, or online store.
- Support: Identify the available contact channels and any stated response commitments; do not assume old reviews describe today’s support.
- Portability and exit: Confirm that you control the domain and can export your site files, content, and customer data. Check migration help, cancellation rules, and whether you can move the domain or site without losing access.
- Room to grow: Make sure there is a documented upgrade path if your traffic, technical requirements, or e-commerce needs increase.
Compare providers using the same checklist, including the full first-term and renewal cost, support commitments, technical limits, and ease of moving away. Without current, verifiable terms for the specific service, a responsible review cannot rank it against alternatives or recommend it as a purchase.

Yahoo Small Business has a documented rebrand and portfolio-transfer history, but that history and a 2020 hosting review do not establish a current product you can buy on known terms. The sensible financial decision is to hold off until you can verify availability, operator, complete pricing, features, support, and exit options for the exact service. If those details are unavailable or unclear, do not treat the legacy Yahoo name as a reason to invest.
