It is not a free phone or a free line for every customer: the offer requires Xfinity Internet at 300 Mbps or faster, limits the discount to one line, and charges taxes and fees separately. After the promotion, Xfinity lists the line at $30 per month with Internet. Check Xfinity’s current offer and restrictions before ordering, since availability and terms can vary.
What does Xfinity’s free unlimited offer include?
The advertised $0 is the monthly price of one Mobile Select service line for the first 12 months. The offer does not cover a phone, and it does not make every Xfinity unlimited plan free. Xfinity’s plan page describes Mobile Select as including unlimited talk, text, and data in the U.S., along with travel in more than 215 destinations. The plan also has usage conditions: hotspot speeds may be reduced after 15 GB, and data may be slowed after 50 GB during network congestion. See Xfinity Mobile plan details.
Who is eligible for the one-year offer?
Xfinity’s public offer is for new Xfinity Internet customers and new Xfinity Mobile phone customers. The qualifying Internet plan must provide speeds of at least 300 Mbps, and the discount applies to one Mobile Select line. Xfinity Internet is required to keep the promotional line price. Existing customers should not assume an already active mobile line qualifies; the public offer terms specify a new Xfinity Mobile phone customer. Account-specific offers and location availability can differ, so confirm the terms presented during checkout and keep a copy of the order confirmation. Review the offer restrictions.
Is the 1 year of Xfinity Mobile truly free?
The promotional line rate is $0 per month for 12 months, but “free” applies only to the qualifying line’s monthly service price. Taxes and fees are extra, and you must maintain qualifying Xfinity Internet and meet the offer’s billing requirements: autopay using a stored bank account and paperless billing. Xfinity lists the regular Mobile Select price after the promotion as $30 per month with Xfinity Internet. The page says regular rates apply after 12 months; review your order terms for the timing and any changes to the offer.

Does the offer include a phone?
No. You can bring your own phone or purchase one separately; the promotion is for service, not hardware. If you buy or finance a device, its cost is separate from the line discount. An Xfinity employee’s forum response says that if a financed device is associated with the account and service is canceled, remaining device charges may become due. Check the device agreement for the terms that apply to your purchase. Read the Xfinity forum discussion.
Can that be used on an existing line?
The public offer is not presented as a discount for an existing mobile line: its restrictions describe eligibility for new Xfinity Mobile phone customers and limit the promotion to one line. If you already have Xfinity Mobile, check your account for a separate targeted offer rather than assuming this public promotion will apply to your current line.

Past promotions had different audiences and terms. Comcast’s June 25, 2024 military-program page described a separate offer of a free Unlimited Xfinity Mobile line for 24 months for qualified military customers who added a line. That historical, targeted program does not change the current public offer’s 12-month duration. See Comcast’s military-program announcement.
Comcast also published a separate promotion tied to Internet Essentials Plus and ACP enrollment. That historical offer should not be treated as the terms of today’s general public promotion. Read Comcast’s announcement.

What to check before you sign up
- Confirm that the offer is available at your address and that you meet the new-customer requirements.
- Verify the Internet tier is at least 300 Mbps and that only one line receives the discount.
- Check that the order shows the $0 monthly line price for 12 months and the post-promotion rate.
- Confirm you can use autopay with a stored bank account and paperless billing, and budget separately for taxes and fees.
- Decide whether to bring a compatible phone or buy one, and review any separate device payment terms.
- Read and save the checkout terms; Xfinity says promotional terms and regular rates may change.
