The large Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price increase was in October 2025—not a change that is still pending. Secondary price-history reporting says the U.S. monthly price rose from $19.99 to $29.99 then, before dropping to $22.99 in April 2026. Separately, Microsoft says new monthly cloud-gaming hour limits are scheduled to begin in November 2026. These are distinct changes, and your own account is the best place to check the price and renewal date that apply to you.
How the price changed
For U.S. subscribers, GamePassPrices reports that Ultimate increased from $19.99 to $29.99 per month in October 2025, then fell to $22.99 per month in April 2026. Those figures come from a secondary price-history source; the official Xbox U.S. plan comparison page retrieved for this article does not display a live U.S. price. Check your Microsoft account for the amount and date that will actually apply to your next renewal. GamePassPrices price history; Xbox plan comparison.

Prices differ by country. In Brazil, Xbox Wire announced that the monthly Ultimate price would fall from R$119.90 to R$76.90 effective April 21, 2026. That is a Brazilian price change, not a U.S. price. Xbox Wire em Português.
A separate change: monthly cloud-gaming limits
On September 3, 2026, Xbox announced that monthly cloud-gaming allowances are scheduled to start in November 2026. The announcement says subscribers currently stream without these monthly hour limits. The upcoming allowances are:

| Ultimate | 15 hours |
| Premium | 10 hours |

Xbox said it expects the change to affect 4% of Game Pass subscribers. That estimate applies to the cloud-hour change, not to the 2025 price increase. The announcement said extra-hour prices and further availability details would be shared before implementation, so those details should not be assumed from the published allowances. - Compare alternatives using local prices: A lower tier or buying particular games separately may suit your habits better, but compare current prices in your region rather than relying on an old headline price.
Check your renewal price and cancellation terms
Xbox says recurring billing continues until canceled. Promotional offers may be limited by market or eligibility and can automatically continue at the regular price then in effect.
