Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $22.99 per month in the United States, according to the Microsoft Store listing checked October 8, 2026. That is below the $29.99 monthly price reported after the October 2025 increase, but it is not an all-time low: historical reporting identifies an earlier $19.99 monthly price. The more accurate description is that Ultimate is at its lowest price since the 2025 increase.
What the new price means
Microsoft’s current US Store listing shows Ultimate at $22.99 per month and describes the plan as including more than 300 console and PC games, new games on day one, and streaming. The listed price is a recurring monthly rate, not a one-time purchase. Check the checkout screen for the terms that apply to your account before subscribing.
Xbox announced a price change on April 21, 2026. In France, its official announcement lowered Ultimate from €26.99 to €20.99 per month; that is a French price and should not be used to infer the US rate. Xbox’s UK product listing, checked October 8, 2026, shows £16.99 per month. Prices vary by market, so use the Microsoft or Xbox storefront for your country.
Why “record-low” needs a qualification
The current US price is lower than the $29.99 monthly rate reported after the October 2025 increase, but historical reporting also identifies a previous $19.99 monthly rate. So $22.99 is not the lowest price ever reported in the US. It is lower than the post-increase rate and higher than that earlier price.

The $22.99 figure comes from the current US Microsoft Store listing, while the $29.99 and $19.99 figures are historical context reported by Tom’s Guide on April 21, 2026. Those sources support a comparison, not a claim that every subscriber previously paid the same amount or that individualized promotions are available.
The main tradeoff: future Call of Duty games
The lower price came with a change to future Call of Duty availability. Xbox said new Call of Duty releases will no longer join Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. Instead, they are expected to arrive during the following holiday season, approximately a year later. Xbox said Call of Duty games already in the catalog would remain available.

How to decide whether Ultimate is worth $22.99 a month
- Start with your local price. The US, UK, and France examples above are different regional prices, not a universal rate. Confirm the price and renewal terms in your own storefront.
- Match the plan to your devices. The US listing describes console and PC games and streaming. Availability and included access can differ by region and plan; verify the benefits shown for your account before paying.
- Consider how much day-one access matters. Ultimate includes selected day-one releases, but future Call of Duty games are excluded from launch availability under Xbox’s April 2026 announcement.
- Count only benefits you would use. Xbox’s UK listing gives examples such as online console multiplayer, EA Play, Ubisoft+ Classics, in-game benefits, and play or streaming across supported devices. This is a regional product listing, so confirm that each benefit is included in your local plan and relevant terms.
- Check recurring billing. Xbox’s UK listing says billing continues at the regular price and selected term unless canceled. Review the renewal details shown in your local storefront, especially if you are comparing an introductory offer with the ongoing price.
