What Microsoft announced for Black Friday 2024
Xbox Wire announced the US promotion on November 15, 2024. Its console discounts did not share the same dates: the Series X offer ended before the Series S offer began. The figures below are the announced US terms, not a claim about every retailer’s price.

These terms come from Xbox Wire’s November 15, 2024 announcement. “Up to 55%” was the maximum advertised discount, not a discount guaranteed on every game. The announcement does not establish a market-wide average saving or prove that any offer was the lowest price of the year.
How the Series X and Series S offers compared
Both console configurations had an announced $50 discount in the US, but their sale periods differed. The Series X 1TB offer ran through November 23; the Series S 512GB offer started November 21 and ran through December 2. That timing means the Series S offer extended beyond the Series X window. The available announcement establishes discount amounts and configurations, not a comparison of console performance, bundle value, or today’s prices.

What was discounted on controllers and games?
Controllers
Xbox Wire described selected Xbox Wireless Controller offers in two windows: November 21–December 2 and December 13–22, 2024. Microsoft’s US Devices Blog separately listed $10 off select Xbox Wireless Controllers from November 22 through December 2. Because the sources describe different windows and do not establish one universal offer for every controller, treat the date and discount as specific to the cited promotion rather than a blanket controller deal. Digital games
The US promotion advertised up to 55% off more than 1,000 digital games through December 2, 2024. The discount depended on the title; the maximum does not indicate the price of any particular game. Xbox Wire’s announcement includes the title-by-title offer list, which is the appropriate source for checking a specific game or edition.

Did the offers match in Spain?
No. Microsoft Spain announced different regional terms on November 21, 2024: €50 off the Xbox Series S 512GB, €50 off certified refurbished consoles, and 20% off selected controllers, including Sky Cipher and Ghost Cipher. It also offered 14 days of PC Game Pass for €1. These were Spain-specific offers and should not be converted into or presented as equivalent to the US dollar discounts. Microsoft Spain also mentioned free engraving with a standard or Elite controller purchase through Xbox Design Lab. Details appear in Microsoft Spain’s November 21 announcement.
Why a US deal may not describe what you saw
Xbox’s US announcement explicitly limited its terms to the United States and said, “Console & accessory offers will vary by market and by retailer.” The statement was written by Kevin Hooper, Senior Manager, Global Campaigns. A retailer could have had its own price or bundle, but the Microsoft announcements do not establish those retailer-specific terms. For another country, the relevant comparison is that country’s Xbox.com or Microsoft Store offer and local retailer listings—not the US dollar amount.
