Xanadu Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, from Margaret River in Western Australia, was named Best in Show at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA). The bottle’s vintage is 2022; the award was given in the 2025 competition.
Which wine won Best in Show?
The award-winning wine is Xanadu Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, a Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon. The Margaret River Wine Association’s results report, published June 19, 2025, identifies it as the region’s Best in Show wine.
To avoid a common date mix-up, 2022 refers to the wine’s vintage, while 2025 is the year of the DWWA result. It is also distinct from Margaret River’s 2022 DWWA Best in Show wine: Deep Woods Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, as reported in Decanter’s coverage of the 2022 awards.
How Margaret River performed in the 2025 awards

The association says wines from 57 countries were evaluated by 248 international experts, including 22 Master Sommeliers and 72 Masters of Wine. It also reports, attributing the figure to Decanter, that the competition awarded 50 Best in Show medals, representing 0.30% of all wines tasted. These figures are from the association’s account of the 2025 results, not a standalone competition dataset.
What the award does—and does not—tell buyers
The result establishes the exact wine and vintage recognized at the 2025 competition. It does not establish a current price, retail stock, or whether the bottle can be shipped to a particular location. Anyone looking for it can search for the exact name, “Xanadu Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022,” then confirm the vintage and local delivery terms with a retailer.
