Wultra announced a €3 million Seed+ round on January 15, 2025, to develop post-quantum authentication and expand in Western Europe and Southeast Asia. That is no longer its latest announced funding: in June 2026, the company announced a €6.8 million Series A. Wultra sells authentication and digital identity technology to banks and fintechs; the funding announcements concern a business platform, not a newly launched consumer banking product.
What happened in Wultra’s €3 million round?
On January 15, 2025, Wultra announced a €3 million Seed+ investment. Tensor Ventures led the round, Elevator Ventures co-led it, and J&T Ventures also participated. Wultra said it would use the capital to accelerate post-quantum authentication development and expand into Western Europe and Southeast Asia. The company also said it planned to open an office in Singapore during 2025; the announcement described a plan, not confirmation that the office opened. Wultra’s January 2025 announcement also named Raiffeisen Bank International, Erste Digital, OTP Bank, and Global Payments as clients at that time.
Is the €3 million round still Wultra’s latest funding?
No. On June 29, 2026, Wultra announced a €6.8 million Series A led by Seventure Partners, with ARIADNEXT founders Marc Norlain and Guillaume Despagne and existing investors J&T Ventures and Elevator Ventures also participating. Wultra said the newer round would support scaling its digital identity platform, developing digital identity wallet capabilities, international growth, and a focus on large strategic customers. These are plans stated for the Series A, distinct from the 2025 Seed+ round’s stated priorities. The Series A announcement does not make the 2025 announcement incorrect; it supersedes it as the company’s latest funding news covered here.
What does Wultra do?
Wultra is a business-to-business cybersecurity and digital identity vendor serving banks and fintechs. Its offering includes mobile-first software authentication as well as a physical authentication device, Talisman. Wultra’s current company profile reports more than 70 clients in more than 25 countries; those are company-reported figures on its profile, not independently verified market totals. In the 2025 funding announcement, Wultra said thousands of Talisman units had been delivered and tens of thousands pre-ordered. Those are historical figures reported at the time of the announcement, not current sales totals.
What is post-quantum authentication?
Post-quantum authentication refers to authentication methods designed to remain secure against attacks that could become practical with sufficiently capable quantum computers. Wultra’s funding announcements describe investment in this area as part of its broader work for financial institutions. They do not establish that every Wultra product—or every FIDO2 security key—is post-quantum.

In the 2025 announcement, CEO and founder Petr Dvořák said he anticipated “Q-day” within five years. That was his forecast in a company announcement, not an independently established timetable or consensus prediction. The announcement also quoted him saying, “Financial institutions must act now to protect their infrastructure.”
What is the Talisman hardware authenticator?
Talisman is a FIDO2 hardware token designed for banking. Wultra says its two-line display guides users through transaction confirmations; the product page also lists USB connectivity, a secure element, FIDO2/WebAuthn integration, and phishing resistance. Wultra’s Talisman product page.

FIDO2 and post-quantum cryptography are not interchangeable terms. Wultra identifies Talisman as a FIDO2 banking token, while describing post-quantum authentication as broader development work. The cited product information does not establish that Talisman itself uses post-quantum cryptography, nor that a generic FIDO2 key is quantum-resistant.
Wultra describes Talisman as an alternative for users who cannot or do not use a smartphone. Its product page invites banks and other prospects to request a quote or sample and describes per-unit pricing, indicating an enterprise-oriented sales route rather than a standard consumer checkout. Wultra’s 2025 announcement said the device was manufactured and assembled in the European Union, with final production in the Czech Republic; that is the company’s statement, not an independent supply-chain audit.

What the funding means for customers and investors
For banks and fintechs, the announcements indicate that Wultra is financing continued product development and international growth, first around authentication and later across a wider digital identity platform that includes wallet capabilities. They do not disclose customer-by-customer rollout schedules, product pricing, or a timetable for post-quantum features. The round amounts alone also do not establish a valuation or predict commercial success.
For a personal-finance reader, the practical distinction is that Talisman is a banking-oriented physical authenticator sold through an enterprise sales inquiry, while Wultra’s wider business includes software authentication for financial institutions. The funding is not an offer to retail investors or a consumer financial product.
