What opened in Canning Vale?
PerthNow reported that the new Canning Vale location was purpose-built and the latest build by Fitness Venture Group, the operator behind the Western Australian World Gym sites discussed in the article. Its opening came amid interest in recovery amenities such as ice baths and saunas. The report presents recovery as a complement to hard training; it does not establish health outcomes from using the facilities.
Emma Stroud, World Gym’s Western Australia growth and improvement manager, said the location had exceeded expectations. She described the opportunity to build from the ground up at a site already desirable to the business and the community.

The $4.8 million figure is the project cost reported by PerthNow in August 2024. The article does not provide a cost breakdown, so it should not be read as an itemised construction budget or as a current valuation of the gym.

Was the Mandurah expansion completed?
PerthNow’s 1 August 2024 report said a World Gym expansion in Halls Head, Mandurah, was tipped to open with additional recovery facilities within the following 12 weeks. It described the project as a $1.5 million, 500-square-metre gym expansion, with planned hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, compression boots and Pilates. That was a forecast at the time of publication; the report does not confirm whether the facilities later opened. It also listed World Gym locations in Midland, Malaga, Joondalup and Bunbury, but those are historical details from the same report rather than a current directory.
