Wipro’s share price history is not a single series. The Indian shares trade on the NSE as WIPRO and on the BSE under scrip code 507685, both quoted in rupees, while the American Depositary Shares trade on the NYSE as WIT in US dollars. Any price history, period return or comparison has to name the listing, the exact dates and whether dividends and corporate actions are included. This guide sets out those choices as of October 9, 2026, and the company events that affect how the record should be read. It does not give a current share price or a period return. Those figures change every trading session and must be pulled from the exchange on the day you use them.
Which Wipro listing a price refers to
Before comparing any figures, confirm which security you are looking at. The three quotes below are separate instruments with different currencies and trading hours.
| Listing | Code | Quote currency | Trading session | What the quote represents |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) | WIPRO | Indian rupees (₹) | NSE regular session, Indian Standard Time | Wipro’s ordinary equity shares on the NSE |
| BSE Limited (BSE) | 507685 (scrip code) | Indian rupees (₹) | BSE session, Indian Standard Time | The same company’s ordinary equity shares on the BSE |
| New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) | WIT | US dollars ($) | NYSE session, US Eastern Time | American Depositary Shares. Each ADS represents a set number of underlying equity shares, so the WIT price is not the NSE price converted at the day’s exchange rate. Check the depositary terms for the current ratio. |
The NSE and BSE prices for the same shares should track each other closely, but they can still differ because the two exchanges record trades at slightly different moments. The WIT price also reflects the rupee-dollar rate, and it trades while the Indian market is closed. Comparing a rupee close with a dollar close taken at a different time therefore mixes several effects.
Where to retrieve an authoritative price record
- Open Wipro’s quote page on the NSE website and confirm that the instrument is WIPRO and the currency is rupees. The page links to the exchange’s historical price-volume archives.
- Check the timestamp on the quote. A page without a dated observation is not a current price, whatever figure it displays.
- Download the daily price-volume records from the archive for your chosen start and end dates. Note the exchange’s stated treatment of corporate actions, because adjusted and unadjusted series give different returns.
- For the BSE line, use the BSE equity quote for scrip code 507685 and its historical data. Do not mix BSE and NSE observations in one series without saying so.
- For the US line, use the NYSE quote and historical data for WIT and record the dollar closes separately from any rupee figures.
- For company events, use Wipro’s investor relations area. It publishes quarterly results, annual reports, operating metrics, and buyback and dividend information. Use these filings to date events and to take audited figures. Use the exchanges, not company releases, for share prices.
Corporate events that change how the price record reads
Share buyback proposal (April 2026)
On April 16, 2026, Wipro’s board approved a proposal to buy back up to 600 million equity shares, which the filing states is 5.7% of total paid-up equity share capital, at ₹250 per share. The aggregate amount was not to exceed ₹150 billion, and the proposal was subject to shareholder approval. The NSE circular subsequently listed June 11–17, 2026 as the offer period and describes the buyback as a fixed-price offer.
#1 Best Overall
The ₹250 figure is the buyback offer price. It is not a market close and should not be plotted alongside trading prices as if it were one. A fixed-price buyback also does not mean every shareholder can sell all of their shares at that price: the company accepts shares up to the approved limit, and the offer document sets how acceptances are allocated. A buyback reduces the share count, which affects per-share measures such as EPS, so compare per-share figures before and after the offer period with that in mind.
Interim dividend (July 2026)
Wipro declared an interim dividend of ₹2 per equity share, or per ADS for the US line, in July 2026 alongside its quarterly results. A price-only chart leaves this cash payment out. To include it in a period return, confirm the record and payment dates in Wipro’s dividend notice and count the dividend only if the holding period covers the relevant dates.

What the Q1 FY2026-27 results show, and what they do not
Wipro’s release for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, dated July 16, 2026, reports the following. The year-on-year changes are as stated in that release.
| Metric | Quarter ended June 30, 2026 | Year-on-year change |
|---|---|---|
| Gross revenue | ₹244.8 billion | Up 10.6% |
| IT services revenue | $2,614.5 million | Up 1.0% |
| IT services revenue, constant currency | Not stated as an absolute figure in the release | Up 0.9% |
| IT services operating margin | 16.0% | Down 1.2 percentage points |
| Net income | ₹33.6 billion | Up 0.6% |
| Earnings per share | ₹3.20 | Up 0.6% |
These are reported operating results. They are not stock-price returns, and a quarter’s revenue or margin does not on its own explain how the shares moved over the same period. Reported and constant-currency growth differ because exchange-rate movements are removed in the second measure, so keep them separate when describing the business.

The same release gave guidance for the September 2026 quarter: IT services revenue of $2,574 million to $2,627 million, which the company translated into sequential constant-currency growth of -1.5% to +0.5%. That guidance was issued in July 2026 and is a forecast, not an outcome. Wipro’s filing index lists its second-quarter results announcement for October 15, 2026, and that announcement is the point at which the guidance can be checked against reported numbers.

| Consolidated item | FY2024-25 | FY2025-26 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales | ₹890,884 million | ₹926,240 million | Up ₹35,356 million (about 4.0%) |
| Net profit | ₹132,180 million | ₹132,655 million | Up ₹475 million (about 0.4%) |
Sales rose while net profit was almost flat, so the annual figures describe the company’s trading and profit base rather than a driver of any particular share-price move. Without dated market evidence for specific events, these numbers should not be presented as the reason a price changed.

How to calculate a comparable return
- Fix the listing and currency first. Use NSE or BSE rupee prices for Indian-share returns, and NYSE WIT dollar prices for the US line.
- Choose start and end dates that are both trading days on the same exchange, and record the closing price used for each.
- Calculate the price-only return as (end price minus start price) divided by start price.
- Calculate a dividend-inclusive return by adding the dividends that went ex during the window to the gain: (end price minus start price plus dividends) divided by start price. This simple method ignores reinvestment of dividends, so state that in any published figure.
- If you want a dollar-based view of Indian shares, convert both endpoints at the exchange rate on the same dates, and state whether the currency effect is included.
Hypothetical figures, used only to show the arithmetic: a share closes at ₹100 on the start date and ₹110 on the end date, with a ₹2 dividend going ex in between. The price-only return is 10%. The dividend-inclusive return is 12%. These numbers are not Wipro prices.
Quick Recap
What the price history cannot tell you
- A results release, buyback or dividend does not by itself explain a price move. To connect the two, match the move to dated market news and exchange volume.
- A price-only chart omits cash distributions, so it understates a shareholder’s return when a dividend falls inside the period.
- Undated quotes and cached pages are not current prices. Always check the exchange timestamp.
- Adjusted and unadjusted series give different results across corporate actions. Confirm the exchange’s convention before comparing periods.
- The WIT price combines the Wipro share price, the ADS ratio and the rupee-dollar rate, so it cannot be read as a direct measure of the Indian share’s performance.
