Why unusually cheap standalone keys deserve care

What to compare before buying
Compare the terms and recourse, not only the headline price:
- Seller and provenance: Is the seller clearly identified, and does it explain how the license is sourced?
- License type and transfer rights: Are these stated in terms you can review before purchase? Do not infer them from “lifetime” wording.
- Activation and replacement support: What happens if the code fails, is already used, or is later blocked?
- Delivery and media: Is delivery by email, and is any physical USB installer included? The surfaced offer describes an emailed code; it does not establish that USB media is included.

If a purchased key will not activate
- Open Settings > System > Activation and note the exact error code.
- Check that the installed Windows edition matches the key. An edition mismatch can prevent activation.
- Contact the seller with the error code and ask what remedy applies. A blocked or invalid key, or a volume key used beyond its limit, can cause activation trouble.
