That is a secondary estimate. It is not a verified balance sheet, and Shatner has not publicly confirmed it. We could not find a public financial statement or filing that establishes his total assets and liabilities, so the figure should be read as one outlet’s valuation rather than a documented fact.
What the $100 million figure is
Celebrity Net Worth is a celebrity-finance website that publishes estimated totals for public figures. Its William Shatner page gives $100 million and carries a last-updated date of September 29, 2026. Recency tells you when the page was revised, not how the number was derived. Estimates of this kind typically combine publicly reported income, deals and assets, and the methodology is not laid out in a way that lets a reader check each input.
For a personal-finance reader, the practical point is simple: treat $100 million as a published estimate with an unknown margin of error. Do not cite it as an audited or self-reported figure.
Why the $600 million Priceline story does not belong in the total
A widely repeated claim holds that Shatner earned $600 million from his association with Priceline. In a 2021 interview with AARP, he rejected it. Asked directly, he said:

The stock was worth between 25 cents and a dollar [a share], went up, then down by the day I could sell it.”
That is Shatner’s own account of the stock’s value and of the restriction on selling after an IPO. It is useful evidence against repeating the $600 million figure as a payout. It does not, however, give a full accounting of any compensation he received from Priceline, and it does not establish his overall net worth. Those are separate questions that the interview does not answer.
How the three numbers in circulation compare
Three figures appear in coverage of Shatner’s finances. They measure different things and carry different levels of support, so they should not be added together or treated as interchangeable.
| Figure | What it measures | Source and date | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| $100 million | Estimated total net worth | Celebrity Net Worth, page last updated September 29, 2026 | Secondary estimate; not verified or confirmed by Shatner |
| $600 million | Claimed proceeds from a Priceline-related relationship | Rumor addressed in AARP interview, 2021 | Rejected by Shatner in that interview; not an established payout |
| $0.25 to $1 per share | Value of Priceline stock in the period Shatner described | Shatner’s recollection, AARP interview, 2021 | Personal recollection, not a transaction record |
How to read these numbers responsibly
- Source type. The $100 million is a third-party estimate. The $600 million is a rumor that its subject disputed. The per-share range is a first-person memory from a 2021 interview.
- What each number purports to measure. A total net worth is a snapshot of assets minus liabilities at some point. A claimed endorsement or stock payout is a single income event, and it says nothing about what a person still holds today.
- Primary evidence. None of the three figures is backed by a public financial statement that we could locate. Shatner’s direct denial is the strongest first-hand statement on the Priceline claim.
If you are using the $100 million figure in your own writing or planning, attribute it to Celebrity Net Worth and state the date of that page. Do not describe it as Shatner’s confirmed wealth.
Further reading on Shatner
Shatner has published nonfiction, including Boldly Go: Reflections on a Life of Awe and Wonder, which is listed on the official author page maintained by Simon & Schuster. The book is a reasonable starting point for his own account of his career, but it is not a source for his net worth and should not be used as one.
Keep in mind that celebrity net worth figures change as new deals, tax events and asset values become public, and the page we cite may be revised again. Check the source’s date before quoting it.

What would make the estimate more solid
A figure on this subject would become more reliable if it came from a primary source, such as a public filing, a sworn statement, or an on-the-record disclosure by Shatner or his representatives. None of these is available in the reporting we reviewed, so the $100 million figure should stay labeled as an estimate.
