What the 2024 record shows for Shiba Inu
Most of the dated 2024 material on SHIB comes from The Shib Daily, which published an article on March 16, 2024, with figures drawn in part from CoinMarketCap. The article reported the following, all attributed to that publication and that date:
- SHIB at $0.000027 at 11:35 a.m. ET on March 16, 2024, with 589,289,410,812,691 SHIB in circulation.
- A 24-hour trading volume of $1,378,974,140 and a market capitalization of $16,146,551,413 at the same snapshot.
- A price range of $0.00001178 to $0.00004456, with the article stating that SHIB rose 280% between the end of February and March 5, 2024.
- Weekly trading volume of $31 billion during the early-March rally, as described by the article.
These are reported historical values. They are not verified against exchange records in this article, and they describe a few days in March 2024, not the year as a whole.

For broader context, CoinMarketCap’s 2024 publication reports that total cryptocurrency market capitalization rose 109% in 2023. That figure describes the whole market and says nothing about any single token, including MNTR. CoinMarketCap’s 2024 publication

The article also reported further SHIB targets, including a possible move to $0.0001553. These were forecasts made at the time. They do not show what SHIB’s price or market capitalization later reached, and they say nothing about MNTR. No regulator, standards body or independent party in the available sources confirms or validates these projections.

What is and is not established about MoonTaurus (MNTR)
A Linktree page under the handle @moontaurus links to moontaurus.com and includes a button labeled “Buy MNTR.” A link page of this kind is a marketing channel. It does not establish that a token exists on a given chain, what its supply is, or where it trades. The destination site could not be verified against the sources available for this article.

How to run the comparison yourself
If you want to test the claim with data, use the same steps for both tokens and record every timestamp:
- Choose a single observation time and note the time zone. Use the same time for both tokens.
- Pull the price, circulating supply and market capitalization for each token from one aggregator. Record which source calculates the market capitalization.
- Confirm the contract address and blockchain for each token from its official documentation or a block explorer. Check that the address matches the one listed on the exchanges where the token trades.
- Record the 24-hour trading volume and the venues where each token trades at that timestamp.
- Compare market capitalization, not price, and note any supply changes between the two dates you use.
- Repeat the check at a second date. A ranking that holds on one day but reverses on another shows that the result depends on timing.
Warning signs before you treat a small token as comparable
- No verifiable contract address, or an address that does not match the one listed by exchanges.
- A market capitalization figure with no stated supply or source.
- Similar-sounding names. A separate project called Minotaurus, with ticker MTAUR, appeared in search results. Its information says nothing about MoonTaurus.
- Specific price targets presented as expected outcomes. A forecast is an opinion about the future, and it does not show what a token did.
- A buy button or marketing page offered as proof of liquidity or adoption.
A large market capitalization on paper does not show that a token is stable or safe to hold, and a smaller one is not evidence of a weaker project. Size is one measurement. It should not be the only input into a decision about buying or holding any asset.
