Its most recent listed split was the 20-for-1 split in 2022. This is a status check of the company information available on that date, not a prediction; Amazon could announce a future split later.
Is an Amazon stock split scheduled for 2026?
No 2026 split announcement or date appears in Amazon’s Investor Relations FAQ as accessed October 3, 2026. The reviewed company materials therefore do not establish that an Amazon split is scheduled for 2026. A later announcement could change that status.

How does a 20-for-1 split work?
A 20-for-1 split turns each existing share into 20 shares: one original share plus 19 additional shares. The split changes the number of shares and adjusts the per-share figures accordingly; by itself, it does not make the company cheaper in valuation terms. The sources reviewed here do not assess Amazon’s valuation or whether its stock is suitable for any particular investor.
What is Amazon’s stock split history?
Amazon Investor Relations lists four common-stock splits: three in 1998 and 1999, followed by the 2022 split.

| Split ratio | Effective date |
|---|---|
| 2-for-1 | June 2, 1998 |
| 3-for-1 | January 5, 1999 |
| 2-for-1 | September 1, 1999 |
| 20-for-1 | May 27, 2022 |
Amazon’s FAQ also says its May 1997 IPO price of $18.00 equals $0.075 per share after adjustment for the splits through 2022. That is a historical split-adjusted IPO figure, not a current AMZN market quote.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do Amazon’s past splits predict one in 2026?
No. The company’s past split dates establish its corporate-action history, but the reviewed primary materials provide no statistic or statement that predicts the likelihood of another split in 2026. A future split date should be treated as confirmed only if Amazon announces it in company materials or a relevant filing.
