There is no confirmed AliExpress or Temu price cut for Pakistani shoppers. The exemption reported for qualifying foreign-supplied digital orders concerns the Digital Presence Proceeds Tax; it does not establish that customs duty or other import charges on parcels have been waived. Separately, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) says advance tax on foreign remittances made by debit, credit and prepaid cards falls from 5% to 0.5% for FY 2026–27. That may change one payment-related cost, but it is not a marketplace discount or a customs-duty exemption.
What does the reported tax exemption cover?
The exemption most closely matching the recent reports is SRO 1366(I)/2025. An independent legal explainer describes it as exempting qualifying digitally ordered goods and services supplied from outside Pakistan from the Digital Presence Proceeds Tax. That is a narrow description of a particular tax; it should not be read as an FBR waiver of customs duty on AliExpress or Temu parcels. The explainer says its legal corpus is current to 30 June 2026 and cautions that it cannot confirm later changes: legal explainer on SRO 1366(I)/2025.

Does it remove customs charges on a parcel?
Not on the evidence available. FBR publishes a Pakistan Customs Tariff for FY 2026–27, an updated Fifth Schedule and operative customs SRO listings. These are the relevant official references for customs treatment. The materials reviewed do not identify a general exemption for ordinary AliExpress or Temu parcels; charges or concessions may depend on the item’s tariff classification and applicable rules.

What changes for card payments?
FBR’s FY 2026–27 budget summary says: “Advance tax on foreign remittances made through debit, credit and prepaid cards has been reduced from 5% to 0.5%.” This is a separate payment-related change, not a reduction in import duty. A marketplace listing is only one part of what a Pakistani buyer may pay. Check the components separately rather than treating a tax headline as the final landed price:
- Item price: the current listed price for the product.
- Shipping: the delivery charge and shipping option shown for your destination.
- Payment-related tax: any amount associated with the card or payment transaction.
- Customs or import charges: any charges assessed for the shipment under the rules applicable to its tariff classification.
The available sources do not establish a universal all-in rate or a representative price change for either marketplace. The final amount depends on the specific item and transaction.

How to check an order before paying
- Review the item price and shipping charge for your Pakistani delivery address in the current checkout.
- Check the payment method and any tax or other amount shown by the marketplace or payment provider.
- For customs treatment, identify the product’s tariff classification and consult the applicable FBR tariff, schedule and SRO references; do not assume the digital-tax exemption settles parcel charges.
- Compare the same item, destination, shipping method, payment method and date if you are checking whether a price actually changed.
What is not established
No source reviewed confirms that AliExpress or Temu has announced a platform-wide price reduction, gives a percentage by which prices will fall, or calculates the all-in cost of an unspecified order. Individual reports of parcel charges do not establish representative treatment or a general price trend.
