When and where was the expo?
The one-day event was held Friday, May 17, 2024, at Sky100, in the International Commerce Centre (ICC) in Hong Kong. The published schedule ran from registration at 8:00 a.m. to closing at 6:00 p.m. A separate Luma event record listed the event as 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and now identifies it as past; the listings do not explain the difference in start times. What did the program cover?
The agenda brought together subjects across financial technology, virtual assets and digital finance. Topics included Hong Kong’s Web3 ecosystem, virtual-asset service-provider regulation, digital-asset oversight, cryptocurrency adoption, payment systems, custody, tokenization, decentralized finance (DeFi), stablecoins, central bank digital currencies, environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse. These were scheduled discussion topics, not findings or investment recommendations.
The event page listed a keynote by Evan Auyang, identified as Group President at Animoca Brands, on Hong Kong’s Web3 ecosystem. Other listed participants included Jun Du of SINOHOPE and ABCDE Capital, and Loretta Joseph, identified as a policy consultant and chair of ADFSAC. WikiEXPO’s post-event account named Emomotimi Agama, Keron Burrell, Justin Sun and Kevin Lee among notable attendees. These names and affiliations are drawn from event materials, rather than independent confirmation of who attended or spoke. How many people and exhibitors were reported?
Published figures differ because advance promotional estimates and post-event reporting are not the same measure.
