Victoria’s Secret postponed its first-quarter 2025 earnings report and webcast because the response to a May security incident left employees unable to access some of the systems and information needed to prepare the report. The company said the incident did not affect first-quarter results. It later estimated that the disruption reduced second-quarter 2025 net sales by about $20 million and operating income by about $14 million, before potential insurance recoveries.
Why Victoria’s Secret postponed its earnings report
The company announced the postponement on June 3, 2025. It said restoration work after the security incident had prevented employees from accessing certain systems and information needed to support the release for the quarter ended May 3, 2025.
“However, the restoration process has prevented employees from accessing certain systems and information needed to support the Company’s release of its financial results for the first quarter ended May 3, 2025.”
Victoria’s Secret announced a new date for the earnings release and webcast on June 5. The available company announcement establishes that a new date was set, but does not state the date itself.

What happened, and when
- May 24, 2025: Victoria’s Secret said it detected a security incident involving its information technology systems. It activated response protocols to contain and eradicate unauthorized network access and engaged third-party experts.
- May 26: As a precaution, the company temporarily shut down corporate systems and its e-commerce website. The incident also affected limited functions in Victoria’s Secret and PINK stores.
- May 29: The website was restored. In its June 3 update, the company said most affected store functions had also been restored, while work to restore full access to corporate systems continued.
- June 3: The company postponed the first-quarter earnings release and webcast, citing employees’ limited access to information needed to prepare the report.
- June 5: Victoria’s Secret announced a new date for the release and webcast.
Did the incident affect first-quarter results?
Victoria’s Secret said it did not. In its June 3 announcement, the company said first-quarter net sales, adjusted operating income and adjusted diluted earnings per share were expected to be near or above the high end of its earlier guidance. The quarter ended May 3, before the company detected the incident on May 24.
At that point, the company warned that incident-related expenses and other financial effects could weigh on future results, including the second quarter. That warning concerned possible later effects, not a revision to the first quarter.

What financial impact did the company later estimate?
In its August 2026 Form 10-Q, Victoria’s Secret estimated that the incident reduced second-quarter 2025 net sales by approximately $20 million and operating income by approximately $14 million. The filing said those estimates do not account for potential insurance recoveries in future periods. These figures concern the second quarter; they do not contradict the company’s statement that first-quarter results were unaffected.

Victoria’s Secret described the event as a “security incident” involving unauthorized network access. The cited company disclosure describes operational disruption and the company’s response, but does not establish whether customer information was accessed or stolen. The Associated Press reported on June 3, 2025, that the company had not directly confirmed ransomware.
