Twin Flame’s Ellenbrook restaurant in Perth closed immediately after the business announced it on Monday, 22 July 2024. PerthNow reported the closure the next day. The restaurant had opened there on 28 September 2023, so it traded for about ten months. The store manager, Trushar Patel, attributed the closure to not having enough chefs and to heavy grocery prices. Those are the operator’s own explanations as reported, not findings that the reporting tested against financial or staffing records.
What the business announced
The closure statement, as quoted by PerthNow, read: “After an inspiring year, we have decided to close Twin Flame, Ellenbrook.” It thanked loyal customers, friends and followers, and added: “We will continue to serve at Twin Flame, Bayswater, with the same love and dedication.” The Bayswater restaurant is therefore the business’s continuing location in that statement. The same report described a food truck travelling around Perth and catering private events. Both services were described in July 2024. The report did not show that either one was still operating when the story was published, and no later source reviewed for this article confirms it.

How the 299-day figure is counted
The headline number is a count of days, but it depends on how the endpoints are counted. Subtracting 28 September 2023 from 22 July 2024 gives 298 days. The figure of 299 counts both the opening day and the closure day. Either way, the store lasted roughly ten months. The count measures calendar time between two reported dates. It does not measure how many days the restaurant actually served customers, and it does not depend on the opening date being independently verified.
The reasons given for closing
PerthNow attributed two explanations to Trushar Patel, the Ellenbrook store manager:

#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable at Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Yard House, Seasons 52, and Bahama Breeze among others.
- Redemption: Instore
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
- Staffing: the restaurant did not have enough chefs.
- Costs: grocery prices were high.
The report does not quantify either point. It gives no wage figures, no vacancy numbers, no food cost ratio and no revenue data. It also does not cite any industry study on chef shortages, grocery inflation or hospitality costs. Patel’s comments describe one site’s situation as he explained it. They should not be read as evidence about Perth restaurants in general, and they do not show why the business chose to keep the Bayswater location open.

What remains unknown
- Current status of Bayswater. The most recent dated material on this closure is from 2024. It does not establish whether the Bayswater restaurant is operating today.
- Food truck and catering. These were reported in July 2024 and have not been confirmed since.
- Menu pricing. PerthNow reported a thali of 20 traditional Indian items for $32. That was the price in the 2024 report, not a current menu price.
- Customer refunds or prepaid orders. The reporting does not say how the closure affected gift cards, catering deposits or pre-orders at Ellenbrook.
How to check the current position
- Search the Bayswater restaurant on Google Maps or Google Business Profile and check its opening hours and whether it is flagged as permanently closed.
- Check the Bayswater listing on the delivery apps you use, such as Uber Eats, which showed the Ellenbrook listing as closed on 3 September 2024.
- Contact the restaurant directly through the phone number or social media account on its own listing to confirm whether the food truck and catering service are still available.
- If you paid a deposit or bought a gift card for Ellenbrook, ask the business in writing how it will handle a refund or transfer, and keep your receipt and payment record.
