GoFundMe’s general Terms of Service say the company may suspend or terminate an account for prohibited activity, for activity that breaks its terms, or where it creates unacceptable risk. That list explains how reviews arise across the platform. It does not tell a reader which of those grounds, if any, applied to this fundraiser.

What happens to the page and the money
- The public link becomes inactive, so visitors cannot view the campaign.
- New donations stop while the review is underway.
- Funds already raised are held until the review is completed.
Those three effects are what a reader can expect from a review in general. They are not confirmed for Ilesanmi’s page beyond the fact that it was suspended.
What the organizer is asked to do
According to the same guidance, the organizer should see a banner on the fundraiser dashboard and receive an email with instructions. The organizer must complete those steps and reply before GoFundMe can finalize the review. A review that stays open because the organizer has not responded is a stalled review, not a finished one.
What a review can lead to
GoFundMe’s EU DSA Transparency Report 2025 describes suspension as a temporary measure. It says a suspension may lead to reinstatement, removal of the content, or an account ban. These are the platform-wide possible outcomes. The report does not say which one applied to Ilesanmi’s fundraiser, and it should not be read as a description of his case.

The fraud report claim
Online discussion from 2024 links the suspension to Angela Deem, who is said to have reported the fundraiser as fraudulent. A Reddit discussion titled “Statement from Michael” is one place this claim appears. It is a non-primary, user-generated source, so it can show that the allegation was made publicly, but it cannot establish that the report happened as described or that it caused the suspension.

Treat this as an unverified attribution. GoFundMe has not said that it found fraud, and a suspension by itself does not prove fraud or wrongdoing by anyone. A report can lead to a review, and a review can end with the fundraiser restored, but the sources available do not show how this one ended.

What 2024 reporting says about the fundraiser
An August 2024 entertainment report from Yahoo Entertainment described the fundraiser as raising money for legal fees. It also said the campaign had passed its stated $25,000 target. Those details describe the campaign at that time. They are not a current fundraising total, and they do not show how much money was ultimately transferred to Ilesanmi.

- Does the claim distinguish a temporary review from a permanent removal? Those lead to different outcomes for donors.
Ilesanmi’s case is, on the current record, a suspension with no published reason and no confirmed outcome. Anyone looking for the specific cause will need an official GoFundMe statement or a verified account from the organizer, and neither has been found in the sources available.
