Ford raised prices by as much as $2,000 on some Mexico-built Mustang Mach-E vehicles in 2025, following U.S. tariffs—but that was a maximum increase across some affected models, not a confirmed $2,000 increase on every Mach-E. The change applied to vehicles built after May 2, 2025, with affected vehicles expected at dealerships in late June.
What changed—and which vehicles were affected?
Reuters reported that Ford increased prices on some Mexico-produced Mustang Mach-E, Maverick and Bronco Sport vehicles after U.S. tariffs. The report, republished by Inc. on May 7, 2025, put the maximum increase at $2,000 on some models. It did not publish an exact Mach-E trim-by-trim price schedule.
A Ford spokesperson told Reuters that the changes applied to vehicles built after May 2, 2025. Those vehicles were expected to reach U.S. dealerships in late June. That timing means the report does not establish that every Mach-E already sitting on a dealer lot was repriced.
Why did Ford raise the prices?
The reported increases followed U.S. tariffs affecting vehicles produced in Mexico. Ford’s tariff-cost estimate was company-wide, not a calculation of the tariff cost attached to an individual Mach-E: the company estimated tariffs would add about $2.5 billion to its 2025 costs and expected to reduce that exposure by around $1 billion, according to Reuters.

Keep the model year and date attached to any comparison. Ford announced a $36,495 starting MSRP for the 2025 Mustang Mach-E. Ford’s U.S. showroom lists the 2026 Mach-E from $37,795 as of October 8, 2026. These are separate model-year price snapshots; they do not establish the tariff adjustment on a 2025 vehicle or show that tariffs explain the difference.

What should a buyer check?
- Model year: Do not compare a 2025 MSRP directly with a current 2026 listing as if they were the same vehicle or price date.
- Build timing: The reported cutoff was vehicles built after May 2, 2025—not simply every vehicle sold after that date.
- Trim and configuration: The $2,000 figure was a maximum reported for some models; Reuters did not specify the Mach-E increase for each trim.
- Dealer’s actual price: Ask for the vehicle’s model year, trim, build information and itemized selling price. The report does not determine the price of a specific vehicle.
