Boxxe acquired UK IT infrastructure provider CAE Technology Services in July 2025 to add networking, security and cloud expertise, broaden its customer reach and expand its solutions portfolio. The deal price was not disclosed. At the time, CAE was expected to trade independently before integration over the next 12 months; Boxxe now lists CAE as part of its group, and CAE’s company page says integration is complete. Those statements establish the companies’ reported status, not measured post-deal results.

Why did Boxxe buy CAE Technology Services?

Boxxe’s stated rationale was to combine its broader range of IT products and services with CAE’s strengths in networking, security and cloud infrastructure, along with CAE’s customer relationships. Microscope reported that CAE served private- and public-sector customers, with notable presence in healthcare and education. The parties said the combination would help Boxxe grow in the corporate market and widen the solutions it could offer.

Boxxe CEO Phil Doye said CAE stood out for its networking, security and cloud infrastructure practices, as well as its focus on customer outcomes through solutions and managed services. He also pointed to CAE Labs, which he described as providing in-house software development capability. These comments explain the strategic case made by Boxxe’s leadership; they are not independent evidence of customer outcomes or post-acquisition performance. Microscope’s 4 July 2025 report contains the deal announcement and executive statements.

What did CAE bring to the group?

CAE was not simply a hardware reseller in the deal description. BDO described it as a technology infrastructure provider selling IT hardware and software, with operations in the UK, Netherlands and US. Its services and expertise included networking, security, cloud infrastructure, managed services and software development through CAE Labs. Boxxe’s current portfolio includes networking and connectivity, cloud, hybrid infrastructure, cybersecurity, modern workplace, software licensing and hardware services.

BDO described Boxxe as a UK-based IT services and solutions provider with more than 35 years’ experience serving public- and private-sector organisations. BDO’s profile says CAE was founded in 1992. These are company-profile details, not measures of the acquisition’s financial contribution. BDO’s transaction note says it provided financial and tax due diligence for Boxxe Group’s acquisition of CAE.

What did the companies say the deal would mean for customers?

The executives’ stated ambition was to pair CAE’s technical expertise and services with Boxxe’s scale and broader portfolio. Doye said Boxxe’s scale and range of products and solutions could bring greater value and relevance to CAE’s customers. CAE chief executive Justin Harling said the company had approached Boxxe as a place where it could develop in its next chapter. CAE chief corporate development officer Richard Behan said CAE’s technical talent could deliver enhanced value through solutions and services to Boxxe’s customers.

Those are strategic intentions, not proof that customers received particular savings, service improvements or a wider offer after the transaction. The published sources do not quantify customer retention, revenue contribution, headcount changes or synergies. For customers, the evidence-backed takeaway is that CAE’s capabilities are now within Boxxe’s group and its stated portfolio; the sources do not describe specific changes to contracts, support arrangements or service delivery.

Has CAE been integrated into Boxxe?

The original deal report said CAE would continue trading independently before integration over the following 12 months. Boxxe’s current website now identifies CAE Technology Services Limited as part of the Boxxe Group. CAE’s LinkedIn company page says integration is complete and that CAE will no longer operate as a separate business. This is company-reported integration status; the available statements do not set out detailed milestones or independently verified operational results.

How does the CAE deal fit Boxxe’s earlier acquisition?

Microscope reported that Boxxe completed its acquisition of Total Computer Networks in January 2024. It presented the CAE transaction as part of a wider effort to expand Boxxe’s customer base and solutions. The available reporting does not provide comparable deal values or quantified performance data for either acquisition, so the transactions can be linked as parts of the company’s stated expansion strategy, but not ranked by financial impact.
