The available reporting does not establish whether the charity ultimately refunded the money.
What prompted the refund request?
According to PerthNow’s June 10, 2021 report, Rose’s donation was intended to support food and care packages in Bali. The dispute arose over a Bali Fest logo: Rose wanted the festival identified on aid shipments, while Let’s Help Bali founder Amanda Rialdi said that promotional placement was not included in the amount donated.
PerthNow reported Rialdi’s account that the donation was sent to Bali without the logo. She also said a proposed additional $50 payment to secure promotion never arrived. These are accounts reported by PerthNow, not findings from an adjudication.
What did Leigh Rose say?
Rose told The West Australian, as quoted by PerthNow: “I have no anger or anything towards Let’s Help Bali. It’s just more disappointing that they didn’t say Bali Fest helped out.” PerthNow also reported that Rose considered it reasonable to expect promotion for his business.

PerthNow said Rose claimed he had donated $16,000 to several Balinese charities after Bali Fest. That figure is Rose’s reported claim, not an independently verified total.
Was the $1,075 donation refunded?
The available reports do not establish the final outcome of Rose’s request. In particular, they do not confirm that Let’s Help Bali returned the $1,075, or that the charity kept it. The Jakarta Post’s May 2021 report discussed broader disputes over promised Bali Fest donations, but does not resolve what happened to this specific payment.
How this differed from Bali Fest ticket refunds
The request to refund the charity donation was separate from refunds offered to festival attendees. Bali Fest was a ticketed Mandurah, Western Australia, event advertised around Balinese culture, food, entertainment, shopping and leisure. PerthNow described tickets as costing $30.
In an April 6, 2021 report, 97.3 Coast FM quoted the organisers’ apology: “We’re taking this opportunity after several days of the festival to publicly apologise to those who have expressed that they feel lied to and underwhelmed by the whole event.” The apology also said: “We would also like to whole heartedly apologise to the Balinese community who were offended by our lack of cultural representation.” The report said full ticket refunds were offered, along with free entry on Monday and Tuesday. Those attendee offers do not establish anything about the separate donation refund request.

What is Let’s Help Bali?
On its About page, Let’s Help Bali describes itself as a Yayasan established in April 2020 by Amanda Rialdi and Ellie Gee, distributing food and other resources to people in Bali. That is the organisation’s own description and does not independently establish how Rose’s disputed donation was ultimately handled.
