A reported $6,200 payment was linked to a Carnival cruise.
Cruise Mummy’s September 9–10, 2025 coverage said the fundraiser began in August 2024, held more than $40,000 that month, and had fallen to about $3,000 by March 2025. It also reported that the family said it received no financial help. These figures and descriptions come from news coverage of the allegations; they are not a court finding.
What is known about the arrest and case status
Come Cruise With Me reported that Lewis was charged with theft by deception and was scheduled to appear in court on September 16, 2025. The accessible reports do not establish what happened at that hearing or the case’s current procedural status. They do not support saying that Lewis was convicted, pleaded guilty, or had the charges dismissed.

What GoFundMe said—and what was not established about Carnival
Come Cruise With Me quoted a GoFundMe spokesperson saying the platform has “zero tolerance” for misuse, works with law enforcement on investigations, and had removed the fundraiser and banned the organizer. The statement was attributed to GoFundMe, not Carnival.
The report reviewed here did not include a Carnival statement, and the available coverage does not establish whether Carnival was asked to comment or whether the company responded elsewhere. That is not enough to conclude that Carnival “remains silent” as a verified, current fact.

Which Carnival ship was involved?
The sources do not reliably identify the ship. CrewPages, in a report credited to Cruise Hive, noted that one media account referred to “Carnival Parade,” but that name was uncertain and could reflect confusion.
