81RAVENS PTE. LTD. announced a $4.5 million seed round on October 31, 2024, naming Digital Hearts Holdings and Gree Ventures as investors. The company said it would use the funding mainly to develop PARAVOX, market it in different regions, and establish and operate official leagues. Its release also outlined blockchain features as plans—not proof that an in-game token or NFT items were already live.
What the $4.5 million announcement covered
The round was announced by 81RAVENS on October 31, 2024. The company named Digital Hearts Holdings and Gree Ventures as investors; GamesBeat also reported the round that day and described the two firms as leading the funding. The announcement did not disclose a company valuation, dilution, the investment instrument, or how much either investor contributed. Those terms should not be inferred from the headline amount. 81RAVENS’ announcement and GamesBeat’s report identify the funding as a seed round.
At the time, 81RAVENS Japan gave the yen equivalent as approximately ¥630 million. That was the company’s conversion for the October 2024 announcement, not a current exchange-rate calculation. The company release also said the proceeds would mainly support three areas:
- PARAVOX development.
- Marketing in different regions.
- Establishing and operating official leagues.
What the investors said they would contribute
Digital Hearts said its investment was intended to pair game-development support and debugging capabilities with 81RAVENS’ business plans. The companies also said they intended to share technical know-how and personnel. That is the investor’s stated rationale; the announcement does not quantify the value of those contributions or describe them as guaranteed deliverables. What PARAVOX is—and what “Web3” meant in the announcement
PARAVOX is presented on the Epic Games Store as a free-to-play, high-speed, 3-on-3 third-person shooter (TPS), with 81Ravens listed as developer and publisher. The store page gives Windows system requirements. The Epic listing is the source for those product and platform details.
The funding release described blockchain functions for some game features and the wider ecosystem, including an in-game token and NFT-based items or skins, to be developed and implemented on Solana. It described these as plans. The announcement does not establish that those features were implemented, available to players, or still planned in the same form. The October release is the basis for the planned-feature description.

What the audience figures do—and do not—show
81RAVENS reported 90,000 players and more than 22 professional teams in its October 31, 2024 announcement, describing these as open-alpha traction. In a November 15, 2024 company release, it later reported more than 100,000 open-alpha users and more than 60,000 Steam wishlists. These are dated figures reported by the company, not independently audited measurements or current active-player counts. The October announcement and the November update give the dates and figures.
Where the PC listings stood
Store availability is a separate question from the funding announcement and can change. At the time of the cited listings, Epic presented PARAVOX as a Windows game with system requirements, while Steam identified 81RAVENS PTE. What the funding news does not establish
- It does not disclose valuation, dilution, the legal form of the investment, or investor-by-investor allocations.
- It does not establish that the announced blockchain plans or official leagues had launched.
- It does not make the company’s historical alpha and wishlist figures a measure of current players.
In the October announcement, co-founder Go Yoshida described the company’s ambition as creating esports-centered experiences across digital and physical spaces and a place for community-led co-creation. The original statement is in Japanese; this English rendering is a translation, not an official English quotation: “Through the PARAVOX platform, 81Ravens will realize, centered on esports, next-generation experiences that transcend the boundary between digital and physical, and a place for community-centered co-creation.” The Japanese release contains the original wording.
