On February 11, 2025, 1Password announced it had become Oracle Red Bull Racing’s Exclusive Cybersecurity Partner. The deal goes beyond putting a logo on a Formula 1 car: the team uses 1Password’s access-management tools to secure applications, devices, shared credentials, and developer secrets across a workforce that travels to races around the world.
What 1Password does for Oracle Red Bull Racing
The partnership centers on 1Password Extended Access Management, which is intended to help ensure that sign-ins to team applications from team devices are trusted and secure. The team uses 1Password for secure application access, shared vaults, and managing developer secrets.
That matters in a sport where work is distributed between a large campus workforce and a race team on the road. In 1Password’s 2025 account, the travelling race team numbered 150 people and visited 24 locations; the company also said the operation analyzes more than 1.5 terabytes of data each race weekend. These are figures supplied by 1Password, not independently reported measurements.
1Password says software recovery time fell from 60 minutes to two minutes after its tools were introduced. The company’s partnership page does not specify the measurement method or the conditions behind that comparison, so it is best understood as 1Password’s reported result rather than a general performance guarantee.

Why a Formula 1 team needs access security
F1 teams rely on applications, engineering workflows, and sensitive information across locations and devices. A password manager and access-management system can help control who can reach those resources and reduce the friction of sharing credentials or restoring access. Developer-secrets management addresses another specific need: protecting credentials used by software and development systems.
1Password’s CMO, Melton Littlepage, described the appeal in terms of competitive information: “every team’s research, engineering, testing, and on-track performance data can make all the difference between being on pole and starting from the back of the grid.” The partnership is therefore both a security deployment and a brand sponsorship; the public announcement does not disclose contract value or detailed technical architecture.

Where the 1Password branding appears
The February 2025 announcement listed branding on the team’s cars, inside the halo, on the steering-wheel startup display, on driver and pit-crew suits and team kit, and on garage screens. The announcement named Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson, reflecting the drivers referenced at that time. Current partnership and campaign pages refer to Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar, so car and driver lineups should be treated as season-specific rather than permanent partnership details.
How the partnership supports F1 Academy
1Password is also the Official Cybersecurity Partner of the Red Bull Racing Pepe Jeans Academy Programme and supports F1 Academy driver Alisha Palmowski. In June 2025, an article about the programme described a bespoke livery for Palmowski’s car during Canadian Grand Prix weekend.

Palmowski has spoken about how seeing women in motorsport can help younger girls recognize racing as a possible path. The F1 Academy element gives the partnership a development and visibility component alongside its enterprise-security work and F1 team sponsorship.

Oracle Red Bull Racing’s use of 1Password is an example of an enterprise deployment; it does not establish that 1Password is automatically the best choice for every household or business.
