Victor Pálsson and Mustapha Bundu are joint next at £10,500 a week. These are third-party estimates, not salaries confirmed by Plymouth Argyle.
Plymouth Argyle’s reported top five for 2025/26
The figures below come from Interesting Football’s article dated 3 August 2025, which labels its list as Plymouth Argyle player salaries for 2025/26. Its first five entries form two ties, so there are five players but only two reported wage levels.
| Reported position | Player | Weekly estimate | Annual estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Joint 1st | Michael Obafemi | £15,800 | £821,600 |
| Joint 1st | Bali Mumba | £15,800 | £821,600 |
| Joint 1st | Adam Forshaw | £15,800 | £821,600 |
| Joint 4th | Victor Pálsson | £10,500 | £546,000 |
| Joint 4th | Mustapha Bundu | £10,500 | £546,000 |
The “£15k-a-week” wording rounds Obafemi’s reported £15,800 weekly figure. The source’s annual amounts are shown as published estimates; they should not be read as verified contract totals.
How firm are these salary figures?
Argyle has not published individual wages in the sources reviewed. Interesting Football is the directly relevant source for this 2025/26 ranking, but it is a third-party estimate rather than an official club payroll disclosure. SillySeason also says the club does not reveal its wage bill and publishes a separate 2024/25 ranking; that supports treating public salary lists as uncertain, not confirming the £15,800 figure.

Other sites report different amounts for a different season. SalarySport’s 2024/25 page names Jamie Paterson as that season’s highest earner at £19,000 a week and estimates total wages for 28 players at £134,393 a week, or £6,988,436 for the year. Those figures cannot be merged with Interesting Football’s 2025/26 list to create a single definitive ranking: the seasons and publishers differ.
Capology’s indexed profile describes its salary figures as estimates of fixed salary and says they exclude image-rights income, commercial deals, bonuses and other benefits. Its indexed history gives Obafemi £15,000 a week for a 2024/25 Plymouth loan entry and shows a 2026/27 Burnley entry. The profile was not directly accessible, so this is secondary context, not verification of the later Argyle estimate.

What the records establish about Obafemi
The Football Association’s official 2024/25 agent-transaction record lists Obafemi as a loan-in at Plymouth Argyle. That confirms the registration context for that season, not his wages. The later FA transaction record covers registrations and transfers through 2 February 2026 but does not provide salary figures in the relevant entries. Neither record establishes his current club or pay for 2026/27.

How to compare football wage claims
- Match the season: a 2024/25 estimate is not a 2025/26 ranking.
- Keep the publisher beside the amount; salary websites may use different methods.
- Check what “salary” means. Fixed pay may exclude bonuses and other income.
- Distinguish estimates from official contract or payroll disclosures.
- Preserve ties rather than implying a single highest-paid player where the listed amounts are equal.
