For 2026/27, Capology estimates Burnley’s highest-paid player is Kyle Walker at £75,000 a week, Blackburn Rovers’ is Todd Cantwell at £30,000, and Preston North End’s is Harry Clarke at £20,000. These are estimated gross fixed salaries, not confirmed contract disclosures or take-home pay.
Who is each club’s highest-paid player in 2026/27?
| Club | Player | Estimated weekly wage | Estimated annual wage | What the source says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Burnley | Kyle Walker | £75,000 | £3,900,000 | Capology estimate of gross fixed salary; bonuses excluded. |
| Blackburn Rovers | Todd Cantwell | £30,000 | £1,560,000 | Capology estimate of gross fixed salary. |
| Preston North End | Harry Clarke | £20,000 | £1,040,000 | Capology estimate of gross fixed salary; bonuses excluded. |
On these Capology estimates, Burnley’s reported top earner is paid the most, followed by Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End. The figures are estimates rather than official disclosures by the clubs. Capology’s Burnley salary listing, Preston listing and Blackburn Rovers listing provide the club-by-club figures.
How to interpret the wage figures
They are estimates, not confirmed contract details
Individual football salaries are not established here through published club contracts. Capology labels the relevant figures as estimated gross fixed salaries, so they should be treated as database estimates rather than verified amounts paid under a player’s contract.
Gross salary is not take-home pay
A gross salary is not the amount a player receives after deductions. The listed estimates also do not give a complete picture of total compensation: Capology explicitly excludes bonuses for Walker and Clarke, while the cited Blackburn entry identifies the estimate as gross fixed salary without specifying bonus treatment.

Weekly and annual figures describe the same estimates
The weekly and annual numbers are both reported estimates for the stated season. They are useful for comparing the database entries, but they do not establish net income, bonus earnings, or the exact amount a club pays in every week of the year.

SalaryLeaks’ 2025/26 pages name James Ward-Prowse as Burnley’s highest earner at an estimated £100,000 a week (£5.2 million a year), Lewis Dobbin as Preston’s at £20,000 a week (£1 million a year), and Todd Cantwell as Blackburn Rovers’ at £30,000 a week (£1.6 million a year). Those are estimates for a different season from Capology’s 2026/27 figures, so they should not be mixed into the current-season comparison. See the SalaryLeaks Burnley page, Preston North End page and Blackburn Rovers page.

The different leaders and amounts do not, by themselves, establish whether player movements, contract changes, updated estimates, or database methods account for the differences. The source and season should therefore accompany any quoted wage figure.
