Stephen Hung is a Hong Kong businessman whose public profile spans investment banking, private investment and luxury hospitality. He was reported as a participant, alongside his wife Deborah, in Netflix’s Bling Empire: New York, which premiered in 2023. A 2022 story had described their possible involvement as a rumor; later coverage identified them as cast members.

Asked about the hotel’s business planning, Hung said, “The first thing you always must do is make the numbers work.” In the same interview, he described the cars as functional: “We needed 30 vehicles to serve our guests and in keeping with the hotel’s tone we settled on Rolls-Royce.” Both quotations are attributed to Hung by Khaleej Times in 2016.
The sources cited here do not establish The 13’s final opening status or the completion of its plans. The project is best understood as a high-profile hospitality venture, not as evidence of Hung’s verified personal wealth.
Did Stephen Hung appear on a reality show?
Yes. Stephen and Deborah Hung were reported as participants in Bling Empire: New York. A profile published in March 2023 reported that the Netflix series premiered on January 20, 2023. My Imperfect Life’s profile covers the couple’s involvement and the show’s premiere.
The apparent contradiction comes from the timing of earlier coverage. In March 2022, the South China Morning Post described the couple’s possible involvement in a succeeding season of Bling Empire as a rumor. Later reporting identified them as participants in the New York series. The rumor was an earlier, speculative account—not the final answer about whether they appeared.
