SailPoint announced Levent Besik as its chief product officer on April 9, 2026. He leads the company’s product organization and reports to Chandra Gnanasambandam, SailPoint’s executive vice president of product and chief technology officer. The company said the hire supports product innovation and growth as enterprises work to secure and govern human, machine, and AI-agent identities.
Who is SailPoint’s new CPO?
Besik’s appointment was announced on April 9, 2026. SailPoint said he most recently served as vice president of product management for Microsoft’s Identity division, where he led the Human and Agentic Identity platform. The company’s announcement also describes earlier executive product leadership roles at Okta, focused on Customer Identity, and at Google, leading the Cloud AI platform and Solutions organization. These career details are based on SailPoint’s published account.
In the new role, Besik leads SailPoint’s product organization and reports to Gnanasambandam. SailPoint’s appointment announcement quoted Gnanasambandam saying Besik’s product experience and entrepreneurial mindset made him suited to lead the organization into its next phase of growth.
Why SailPoint says it made the appointment
SailPoint connected the hire to product innovation, company growth, and rising enterprise demand for identity security that covers AI agents as well as people and other machine identities. Besik said enterprises urgently need ways to secure, govern, and protect agents end to end. Those statements describe the company’s rationale; they do not establish that the appointment has already generated growth or improved product outcomes.

How the role fits SailPoint’s product priorities
Before Besik’s appointment, SailPoint had described an adaptive identity strategy organized around four priorities. In a March 9, 2026 announcement, the company named:
- Real-time governance
- Protection for AI and machine identities
- Universal and dynamic privilege
- Integrated threat management
That March release said a next-generation Access Certification engine and a Separation of Duties revamp were planned for the second half of 2026. This was a roadmap announcement, not confirmation that either item was delivered.
Later, SailPoint’s August 4, 2026 release described SailPoint Agentic Fabric as generally available and presented the company’s broader offering as covering human and non-human identities. This provides subsequent context for the strategy, but the company’s product descriptions are not independent evaluations of performance.
Partnership context and reported figures
On March 16, 2026, SailPoint and AWS announced a multi-year strategic collaboration intended to expand identity governance for human and non-human identities interacting with AWS services. The announcement is ecosystem context; it does not say Besik personally led the agreement.

The August release attributed two figures to SailPoint research: 97% of AI agents have access to sensitive data, and 21% of organizations are highly confident in their ability to manage AI-agent security risks. The release is the available source for these statistics; the underlying report and its methodology are not established here, so the figures should be read as SailPoint-reported research rather than independently verified findings.

The appointment gives Besik responsibility for SailPoint’s product organization during a period when the company is emphasizing governance across human, machine, and AI-agent identities. His prior roles, as described by SailPoint, include identity and AI product leadership at Microsoft, Okta, and Google. The announcement and later company releases outline strategic priorities and product plans, but they do not demonstrate the hire’s effect on revenue, growth, or product effectiveness.
