Who was Bristol City’s highest earner in 2025/26?
SalaryLeaks lists Brazilian defender Neto Borges as Bristol City’s top earner for the completed 2025/26 season. It estimates his pay at £25,000 per week, equivalent to £1.3 million per year. Neither figure is an official disclosure of his contract terms.
SalaryLeaks also estimates the first-team salary total at £16.7 million and the average annual squad salary at £537,290 for that season. These are the provider’s squad-level estimates, not audited club payroll figures or statistics disclosed by Bristol City.
Who is estimated to earn the most in 2026/27?
There is no consistent answer in the available current-season estimates. Capology’s search listing identifies Luke McNally at an estimated £25,000 per week in gross fixed salary. SalarySport’s search listing instead names Emil Riis at £21,000 per week. The reports differ, and neither figure should be treated as confirmed by the club.

The season labels matter: Borges is SalaryLeaks’ answer for 2025/26, while the two conflicting reports concern 2026/27. The figures also may not measure the same thing. Capology specifies gross fixed salary; the other listings do not establish matching treatment of bonuses, image rights or benefits. Averaging the estimates would therefore give a misleading impression of precision.

That record establishes the accounts period and filing date, but does not disclose a current player-by-player salary ranking. The estimates above come from salary websites, not itemized club contracts.

“Highest earner” can also refer to different measures: fixed salary, or total compensation once bonuses and benefits are counted. Without comparable methodologies and contract details, public estimates cannot establish which player receives the most overall.
