WhiteBIT added Bitcoin Lightning Network deposits and withdrawals on October 8, 2026, giving users a second route alongside standard Bitcoin-network transfers. Its published Lightning fee is 0.25% for deposits and 0.15% for withdrawals; the stated minimum and maximum are 0.0001 BTC and 0.06 BTC for either direction. These are WhiteBIT’s platform terms, not a promise that Lightning is free or that every payment will be instant. Check the live fee schedule and transaction screen before sending.
What WhiteBIT’s Lightning integration changes
WhiteBIT’s English guide, published October 8, 2026, documents BTC deposits and withdrawals over Lightning. Users can still select the standard Bitcoin network; Lightning is an additional transfer route, not a replacement. The detailed guide explains deposits and withdrawals, while WhiteBIT’s launch announcement also describes top-ups, send-and-receive flows, and QR payment experiences. The broader announcement language should not be read as a detailed how-to for every listed experience.
With an ordinary on-chain Bitcoin transfer, transactions are broadcast to the Bitcoin network and depend on network confirmations. Lightning uses payment channels to process transfers off-chain. The channels are anchored by Bitcoin blockchain transactions, and the blockchain remains the settlement and enforcement layer; individual Lightning payments are not each written to the Bitcoin blockchain. The Lightning Network overview explains how channel balances can be updated without broadcasting every payment and how payments can route across channels.
WhiteBIT presents Lightning as a possible fit for frequent or smaller-value transfers when speed and efficiency matter. Whether it suits a particular transfer depends on the wallet or service at both ends, the amount, the fees shown, and how quickly the funds need to be processed. No measured speed comparison for WhiteBIT’s integration is provided in its launch materials.

- BITCOIN EXCLUSIVE, PHONE VERIFICATION: Bitkey is designed from the ground up exclusively for bitcoin — a dedicated hardware wallet for secure bitcoin storage. Approve transactions with a tap using your phone and NFC. No device screen is required.
- SELF-CUSTODY, NO EXCHANGE OR CUSTODIAN REQUIRED: You hold two of the three keys in the Bitkey system – one on your phone and one on your Bitkey device. The third is stored on Bitkey’s server and cannot move your bitcoin on its own.
- NO SEED PHRASE: Set up and use Bitkey without creating or storing a seed phrase.
- 2-of-3 MULTISIG: Three keys are stored separately across your phone, Bitkey device, and Bitkey’s server. Any two keys are required to move your bitcoin.
- BUILT-IN RECOVERY: Encrypted backup and recovery tools can help you regain access if you lose your phone or Bitkey device. You can also designate a Recovery Contact.
Lightning fees and limits on WhiteBIT
WhiteBIT’s guide and live fee schedule list the following Lightning terms. The schedule was accessed October 9, 2026; fees and availability can change, so verify them in WhiteBIT immediately before a transaction.
| Transfer route | Deposit fee | Withdrawal fee | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BTC (LIGHTNING) | 0.25% | 0.15% | 0.0001 BTC for deposits and withdrawals | 0.06 BTC for deposits and withdrawals |
| BTC network (standard Bitcoin) | Free | 0.00009 BTC | 0.0001 BTC deposit; 0.0003 BTC withdrawal | Not stated in WhiteBIT’s cited fee-table row |
The standard Bitcoin and Lightning rows are distinct: do not apply one route’s fee or minimum to the other. WhiteBIT’s fee page says withdrawal fees depend on blockchain fees and asset price and may change without notice. The percentage fees above are WhiteBIT’s published Lightning terms, not a statement of the total cost of every Lightning payment or of Lightning fees across other services.

How to deposit BTC to WhiteBIT over Lightning
- In WhiteBIT, open Deposit, select BTC, and choose Lightning as the network.
- Generate the payment details WhiteBIT displays. Scan the QR code or copy the details into a Lightning-compatible external wallet or service.
- Check that the sending service is using Lightning and that the amount and payment details are correct, then confirm the payment in that service. WhiteBIT says BTC is credited after the transaction is successfully processed.
How to withdraw BTC from WhiteBIT over Lightning
- Open Withdrawal, select BTC, and choose Lightning as the network.
- Scan the receiving wallet’s QR code or enter its Lightning payment details.
- Enter the amount and review the transaction details displayed by WhiteBIT, including the fee and applicable limits.
- Confirm only after checking the network, receiving details, and amount. The receiving service must support Lightning.
For either direction, stop if the wallet or service does not clearly support Lightning or if the network shown on the sending and receiving sides does not match. A Bitcoin on-chain address and Lightning payment details are not interchangeable.

The sender and receiver need Lightning-compatible services, and the transaction must use the correct network. WhiteBIT lists these examples in its guide; the descriptions below are WhiteBIT’s, not independent reviews or endorsements:

Choosing Lightning or the standard Bitcoin network
WhiteBIT’s own comparison points to four practical considerations. Check the live amount limits and fees for the route you intend to use rather than assuming Lightning is always faster or cheaper for your particular transfer.

WhiteBIT and infrastructure provider Voltage announced the integration on October 8, 2026. Voltage CEO and founder Graham Krizek said the company supports the infrastructure, liquidity, and operational reliability behind the service. That is a vendor statement, not an independent performance measurement. WhiteBIT founder and CEO Volodymyr Nosov described the launch as part of the exchange’s effort to make blockchain technology more accessible.
