Who bought the parks, and what did Six Flags announce?
Six Flags announced definitive agreements to sell all seven parks to EPR Properties for $331 million in cash consideration, subject to customary purchase-price adjustments. That was the announcement-stage consideration, not a statement of final cash proceeds. The company said after-tax proceeds, net of taxes and transaction expenses, would be used to pay down debt.

The transaction filings also describe the U.S. agreement as a transfer of 100% of the outstanding equity interests in subsidiaries holding the agreed assets and liabilities. The March 5, 2026 Form 8-K lists a $318,885,000 aggregate purchase price for that U.S. transaction before specified adjustments; it treats La Ronde under a separate agreement. These differently scoped disclosures should not be added together or mistaken for final proceeds.
For the seven parks combined, Six Flags reported approximately 4.5 million guests, $260 million in net revenue and $45 million in Adjusted EBITDA for the year ended December 31, 2025. Those are company-reported full-year figures. Six Flags described the sale as a way to focus capital and operational attention on other properties; that is the company’s stated rationale, not an independent assessment of the strategy.

Will a 2026 Six Flags pass or membership still work?
According to Six Flags’ guest FAQ, qualifying 2026 season passes purchased before the sale and active memberships bought before the sale are honored through the 2026 operating season, including applicable multi-park privileges. Six Flags said membership remains tied to the original home park and does not automatically transfer. The company also said these products continue to include multi-park access to parks that remain in the Six Flags portfolio.
Other transition arrangements differ by product. Six Flags said current Great Escape Lodge hotel reservations would be honored; Enchanted Parks is honoring drink plans, while dining plans are not honored by Enchanted Parks. The company FAQ describes eligible dining-plan refunds and a deadline, but that deadline and any current guest-service instructions can change, so check the official Six Flags website for current guidance.

What happens to park names and policies after 2026?
EPR retained rights to use the Six Flags brand through the end of 2026, subject to requirements, and Six Flags said the park names would not change during 2026. The announcements and FAQ do not establish what the parks will be called after that period.
For 2027, the new owners decide the parks’ operating policies and loyalty program. The available terms do not promise continued Six Flags pass access, membership benefits or any particular future branding after the 2026 operating season.
