The list concerns aircraft assignments, not whether Qatar Airways still serves those cities, and it is not an airline-confirmed declaration that each change is permanent.
Which destinations are on the list?
The five destinations below are named by Aviation A2Z in its March 14, 2026 comparison of historical operations through 2025 with planned 2026 schedules. The report does not establish exact final A380 operating dates for every destination.

Does Qatar Airways still fly the A380?
Qatar Airways has operated the A380, and later schedule plans included the aircraft on other routes. But aircraft assignments change, so the historical list alone cannot establish where the airline flies it now. An AeroRoutes schedule filing report dated April 27, 2026 said regular A380 operations were intended to resume no earlier than June 16. For the planned June 16–September 15, 2026 window, it listed two daily Doha–Bangkok Suvarnabhumi frequencies and two daily Doha–London Heathrow frequencies. The report warned that further changes were highly possible; that schedule window has passed.

Qatar Airways’ own 2026 operational update said its revised network schedule was valid through September 15 and advised confirmed passengers to watch for updated flight information. Check the airline’s current booking or travel-update tools for your specific flight and aircraft assignment rather than relying on an old route list or schedule plan. Why did Qatar Airways ground its A380 fleet in 2020?
On July 16, 2020, Qatar Airways said it had grounded its fleet of ten A380s because, amid COVID-19-era demand, operating such a large aircraft was not commercially or environmentally justifiable. The airline said it would wait for demand to return to appropriate levels before resuming the fleet. That was its explanation for the fleet grounding at that time; it does not prove why an individual route later received a different aircraft.

In the same release, the airline described an internal comparison of the A350 and A380 on Doha routes to London, Guangzhou, Frankfurt, Paris, Melbourne, Sydney, Toronto and New York. Qatar Airways reported that, on a typical one-way flight, the A350 saved a minimum of 16 tonnes of CO2 per block hour compared with the A380, and that the A380 emitted over 80% more CO2 per block hour on each route in that comparison. These are the airline’s reported findings, not an independent study or a universal per-passenger comparison.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said at the time: “As we rebuild our network, passengers can rely on us to operate an honest schedule of flights to take them where they want to go, using the right size aircraft to offer sensible capacity on each route.” Qatar Airways’ July 16, 2020 release.

What the A380 figures do—and do not—tell you
Airbus says 251 A380s were delivered to 14 customers. It also lists a maximum certified seating capacity of 853; that is the aircraft’s certified maximum, not Qatar Airways’ cabin seat count.
