Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteFor UK releases, start with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) release calendar. For German federal data, use Destatis’s GENESIS-Online and its weekly press preview. The Bundesbank’s statistical release calendar covers its own releases, while Eurostat’s release calendar adds EU-level indicators. Check dates and status on the publisher’s page before relying on a release schedule, because calendars and feeds can change.
Which official source should you use?
| Source | Best for | Release or update tracking | Important limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| ONS release calendar | UK national statistics releases and time series | Search and filter releases; RSS, email alerts, and add-to-calendar options where shown | Check each listing’s date and status, and filter the broad calendar to the relevant topic or series. |
| Destatis GENESIS-Online | German federal data, custom tables, and downloads | “Neue Daten” updates are also available through newsfeeds | It is a database; the weekly press preview is the clearer view of planned press releases. |
| Destatis weekly press preview | Planned German federal press releases | Expected publication dates and reporting periods, revised weekly | Destatis may add press releases beyond those in the preview. |
| Deutsche Bundesbank calendar | Bundesbank statistical releases | Filter by time period and category | It is not a complete calendar for German official statistics; some business-statistics dates are listed by Destatis or the Federal Employment Agency. |
| Eurostat release calendar | EU-level indicators and harmonised cross-country comparisons | Filter the 2026 calendar by statistical theme or release category | Use national publishers for UK and German release schedules and detailed national data. |
How to set up a useful release watch
- Choose the producer and geography. Use ONS for UK national statistics, Destatis for German federal statistics, the Bundesbank for its statistical products, and Eurostat for EU outputs.
- Search using the series name, topic, or code. ONS supports keyword and time-series ID searches. GENESIS lists statistical codes and lets you find and assemble data tables.
- Check the scheduled date and its status. ONS distinguishes published, upcoming, confirmed, provisional, and cancelled releases. Treat a provisional date as subject to change, and revisit the listing shortly before publication. Destatis’s weekly preview is a plan, not a guarantee that no additional press release will appear.
- Subscribe only through a documented option. On ONS listings, use RSS, email alerts, or add-to-calendar options where offered. For GENESIS data updates, follow its newsfeeds. Use the Bundesbank and Eurostat calendars to monitor schedules; do not assume every calendar offers an email alert.
- For repeatable data work, use the database rather than only the press release. Destatis documents custom tables, machine-readable downloads, visualisation, and a web-service API through GENESIS-Online.
Release calendars and data feeds do different jobs
A release calendar helps you anticipate when a publisher plans to issue a statistic. A data-update feed helps you notice that database material has changed or been added. If you need both advance notice and updated figures, follow the appropriate calendar and data feed rather than treating one as a substitute for the other.
Where to find German short-term indicators now
Destatis announced on 13 April 2026 that its Short-term indicators page would stop being updated from October 2026 and be deactivated at the start of 2027. For continuing access, go directly to the Economic Dashboard or GENESIS-Online. Destatis describes the dashboard as a low-threshold way to view current, high-frequency indicators; GENESIS provides a broader database with search, tables, downloads, charts, and API access.
Check the publisher again before a scheduled release
Release dates, statuses, and feeds are live services. A confirmed date is a useful schedule, not a reason to skip a final check: consult the relevant publisher page shortly before the expected release, particularly when the listing is provisional or the data are time-sensitive.
