AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 are no longer pre-order products. Partner-board cards have been available at retail since March 6, 2025; current stock and pricing depend on the exact card, seller, and country.
There are no current AMD launch pre-orders for the Radeon RX 9070 XT or Radeon RX 9070. Both were announced on February 28, 2025, and partner-board cards began retail sales on March 6, 2025. Buy them as released graphics cards: find the exact board-partner model in your country, then verify its current seller, price, delivery estimate, dimensions, and power requirements before you pay.
Where to buy one now
Start with AMD’s country-specific Radeon retailer directory, then search the exact card at at least two listed retailers. In the United States, AMD lists retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Micro Center, and Newegg. Its directory also provides country and regional retailer lists for Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
For Canadian buyers, AMD lists Amazon Canada, Canada Computers, Memory Express, and Newegg Canada. Buyers elsewhere should use the directory’s local-country section rather than following U.S. shopping advice: catalogues, taxes, delivery terms, consumer protections, and warranty coverage can differ substantially by region.

You will usually buy a partner card, not an AMD reference card
AMD’s RX 9070 XT product imagery is an artist render marked as not available for purchase. In practical terms, shoppers buy an add-in-board card from a partner such as ASRock, ASUS, GIGABYTE, PowerColor, SAPPHIRE, or XFX. Major retailers list multiple partner versions of both the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070.

That distinction is important for both value and compatibility. One partner card can differ from another in:
- cooler design, noise profile, and physical size;
- slot thickness and case-clearance requirements;
- factory clock settings and power limits;
- display-port arrangement;
- power-connector layout and recommended PSU capacity;
- warranty administration and regional eligibility; and
- price, return terms, bundle conditions, and seller.
Do not assume that a listing is a “reference” model merely because it uses AMD’s GPU. Record the manufacturer and full SKU before comparing prices.

RX 9070 XT or RX 9070: choose the card before chasing a deal
| Specification | Radeon RX 9070 XT | Radeon RX 9070 |
|---|---|---|
| Launch U.S. SEP | $599 | $549 |
| Compute units | 64 | 56 |
| Memory | 16GB GDDR6, 256-bit | 16GB GDDR6, 256-bit |
| Reference power figure | 304W typical board power | 220W TBP |
| Best fit within this pair | Higher-spec option, where power and case requirements are comfortable | Lower-power alternative, when its actual price is the better value |
These are AMD’s launch/reference specifications. They are useful for narrowing the choice, but they do not guarantee the clocks, cooling, measurements, connectors, or price of a particular third-party board.
The original $50 launch-price gap is not a buying rule. Compare the current difference between the two exact cards you can buy. If an RX 9070 XT board costs only modestly more and fits your system, it may be the stronger purchase. If XT models carry a large premium, or your build benefits from the lower power target, the RX 9070 can be the more financially sensible option.

Price: use launch SEP as context, not today’s quote
AMD’s launch suggested e-tail prices were $599 for the RX 9070 XT and $549 for the RX 9070. Those are historical launch reference points, not current market prices. A U.S. price-watch snapshot from July 30, 2026 found RX 9070 pricing around $640–$650 and noted renewed increases for RX 9070 XT cards, illustrating why shoppers should expect market pricing to move and often exceed launch SEP.
Do not use that snapshot as a live quote. Before ordering, refresh every price, stock label, delivery promise, promotion, and marketplace seller. A cheaper card can stop being cheaper after shipping, sales tax, a required membership, a rebate with restrictive terms, or a less useful return policy.

A purchase checklist that prevents expensive mistakes
- Pick the GPU tier first. Decide whether the RX 9070 XT’s higher specification is worth its likely higher price and power demands, or whether the RX 9070 better matches the budget and system.
- Find local authorized retail options. Open AMD’s retailer directory for your country and search the full model name at two or more retailers.
- Compare identical SKUs. “RX 9070 XT” is not a complete comparison. Match the board maker and exact SKU, then compare price, shipping, tax, and any bundle or rebate conditions.
- Check who is selling it. Prefer the retailer itself or a clearly identified authorized seller. Marketplace listings can have different return handling, regional warranty eligibility, or condition descriptions.
- Confirm physical fit. Check the card’s length, height, thickness, and required clearance against your case. A large triple-slot cooler can conflict with adjacent expansion slots or front-mounted radiators.
- Confirm power delivery. Check the selected board maker’s product page, not just the GPU family specification. The RX 9070 XT reference specification calls for a 750W minimum PSU and two 8-pin auxiliary power connectors; your chosen model and complete system may have different requirements. Make sure your PSU has the required separate connectors and adequate capacity.
- Read the return and warranty terms before payment. Save the listing, SKU, seller identity, estimated delivery, and order confirmation. This is especially useful if the listing changes after purchase.
How to interpret “pre-order” on a listing
Do not call a normal RX 9070-series order a pre-order. These GPUs have been on sale since March 2025. A retailer may still use pre-order language for a particular restock, a new partner SKU, or a temporarily unavailable model. When that happens, rely on that retailer’s stated ship window and cancellation terms; it is retailer-specific inventory handling, not a new AMD launch event.

- Choose RX 9070 XT when the actual premium is acceptable, the card fits your case, and your PSU and cabling meet the selected board’s requirements.
- Choose RX 9070 when its lower power target better suits the build or when the real-world price gap makes the XT poor value.
- Wait or set an alert when the only available listings are third-party marketplace offers with unclear warranty coverage, unusually high pricing, or weak returns.
- Do not buy on the model name alone when two cards have different coolers, dimensions, sellers, or warranty terms. The cheaper headline price may not be the lower-risk purchase.
For either card, the best purchase is the exact partner-board SKU that is genuinely available from a trustworthy local seller, fits the system, and has an all-in price you are comfortable paying—not a stale launch MSRP or an unverified stock claim.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still pre-order the Radeon RX 9070 XT or RX 9070?
No. Partner-board Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 cards began retail sales on March 6, 2025. A retailer may label a specific restock or new SKU as a pre-order, but that is not an AMD launch pre-order.

AMD’s launch suggested e-tail prices were $599 for the RX 9070 XT and $549 for the RX 9070. Those are historical launch figures. Current price depends on the partner card, retailer, seller, and region.
What should I check before ordering a partner card?
Check the exact card’s published length, height, thickness, power connectors, and PSU recommendation. AMD lists a 750W minimum PSU and two 8-pin auxiliary connectors for the RX 9070 XT reference specification, but partner cards can differ.
The Bottom Line
The RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 are released retail GPUs, not current pre-order products. Check AMD’s retailer directory for your country, compare exact partner-card SKUs at multiple sellers, and verify fit, PSU requirements, warranty, and all-in price before ordering.
