For US buyers, start with Nintendo’s Switch 2 accessories catalog or its hardware-and-accessories store category. Use the catalog to identify Nintendo-listed products, then check the live product page for current stock, price, exact model and seller before buying. A product appearing in Nintendo’s catalog does not establish that a third-party marketplace listing or seller is authorized.
Choose an accessory by what you need
Nintendo’s US catalog groups accessories by product. The right choice depends on whether you need an extra controller, protection for travel, storage or a replacement part.

Check what comes in the Switch 2 box
Nintendo’s US system page lists the console, left and right Joy-Con 2 controllers, AC adapter, USB-C charging cable, dock, Joy-Con 2 grip, two Joy-Con 2 straps and Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable as included. Nintendo marks accessories sold separately. Compare your planned purchase with this list so you do not pay for a duplicate of an item you already have.
For storage, Nintendo’s catalog states: “Nintendo Switch 2 uses a standard of expandable memory card called microSD Express (sold separately).” That requirement means an older Switch microSD card without microSD Express is not a suitable expansion card for Switch 2.

Can original Nintendo Switch accessories work?
Some do, but compatibility is item-specific. Nintendo Support says original Joy-Con controllers can pair wirelessly with Switch 2 but cannot attach to the console. The original Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is compatible through wireless pairing. For other accessories, check Nintendo’s item-specific Switch 2 compatibility information rather than assuming an accessory will carry over or support every feature.
