That is the clearest way to identify the seller authorized for that specific show. If the concert is sold out, use a resale route only when the venue or original ticket issuer identifies it as an option.
Where to buy tickets for a concert that is still on sale
Open the event listing on the artist’s, promoter’s, or venue’s official website and follow its ticket link. Check that the destination matches the seller named by the event listing before entering payment details; a familiar ticketing brand is not, by itself, proof that a third-party listing is authorized for your event.

For an AXS-ticketed event, AXS recommends buying through AXS.com, the AXS app, AXS Fan Support, the venue box office, or the official venue website. Ticketmaster says buyers can know tickets are authentic by purchasing directly from Ticketmaster or the venue box office. Follow the event’s own link if it names a different authorized seller.
What to compare before paying
Compare the complete cost and the terms, not just the first price shown. The Federal Trade Commission’s live-event ticket fee rule took effect May 12, 2025. Its consumer guidance says that the upfront offered price must include required fees the seller knows about. Read the checkout breakdown for any other costs and confirm the amount due before submitting payment. See the FTC consumer guidance and its rule FAQ.

- Ticket type: Is the listing for primary inventory sold for the event, or a resale ticket?

Where to look if the concert is sold out
First check the venue’s event page and the original ticket seller for an authorized resale option. Ticketmaster has resale listings on its platform and advises buyers to check their order confirmation or venue website for other resale opportunities. Its resale guidance also explains that delivery may involve the original provider, Ticketmaster, or both; follow the instructions for the specific event.
Resale availability, authorization, transfer timing, and restrictions vary by event. Do not assume that any marketplace or person advertising a ticket is approved by the venue or issuer. If the event’s official information does not identify a resale route, contact the venue or original seller through its official support channel before buying elsewhere.

How to avoid ticket scams
Use the official website or app to reach ticketing and support pages rather than relying on a contact link sent by a stranger. Be wary of pressure to pay quickly, requests to move a transaction off-platform, or payment methods that leave you with little recourse. Ticketmaster specifically says it will not ask customers to buy gift cards to pay for tickets or obtain a refund; use its official scam guidance and Fan Support routes if you need help.
A ticket image or screenshot should not be treated as proof that a ticket is valid or transferable. Confirm the seller and delivery method with the event’s authorized channel before paying, and keep the order confirmation and payment record.

What to know about ticket fees and resale practices
On September 18, 2025, the FTC and states filed a complaint alleging deceptive pricing, purchase-limit representations, and resale practices involving Ticketmaster and Live Nation. Those statements are allegations in a complaint, not a court finding; the FTC announcement describes the filing.
This guide does not point to a specific show or promise that tickets remain available. Concert listings and resale terms change by event, so check the current event page and seller terms at the time you buy.
