Where Can You Buy League of Legends Gift Cards? Stores, Regions and Redemption

League of Legends prepaid gift cards are sold through major retailers in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, according to Riot Games’ official gift-card page. Physical cards are sold in stores such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy and GameStop. Riot also says digital cards can be bought from Amazon in the United States and Canada. The catch is that a card only works in the region it was bought for, and only for the PC client. Check the recipient’s server and the retailer before you pay.

Where to buy, by country

Riot lists the same core retailers across its supported markets, but availability differs by country. The table below separates what Riot states from what it does not.

Riot’s page names Electronics Boutique and Couche-Tard among its other major physical retailers. The page does not say which markets those stores serve, so check a store’s own listing before relying on them.

Retailer stock and prices change often. Riot’s page does not state current prices or stock levels, so treat any price you see on a retailer page as that retailer’s own figure at the time you look.

Check these four things before you buy

• The server. A card bought in the United States or Canada redeems on the NA server. A card bought in Australia or New Zealand redeems on OCE. A card from one region will not work for a player on another server.
• The platform. Riot describes the card offer as PC-only.
• The seller. Buy from a retailer Riot names or from an official partner. Riot warns against online auctions and unauthorized sellers. It says it cannot guarantee those codes and cannot help if they fail.
• The receipt. Keep the receipt and the card. Riot says both are needed if a redemption problem has to be investigated.

Physical cards versus digital codes

A physical card is a plastic card with a PIN. Riot says a physical card must be activated by the store that sold it. If the store did not activate it, Riot directs you back to that merchant. Ask the cashier to confirm activation before you leave the store.

A digital card is sent to you as a code. Riot names Amazon as the digital source in the United States and Canada. Riot’s page does not name a digital seller for other countries.

How to redeem a League of Legends prepaid card

Prepaid gift cards must be redeemed inside the game client. They cannot be redeemed on Riot’s website. To redeem one for League of Legends or Teamfight Tactics:

1. Open the League of Legends client and sign in to the account that will receive the RP.
2. Open the in-client store.
3. Select Purchase RP.
4. Select Prepaid Cards.
5. Enter the PIN from the card and confirm.

Riot codes for content are a different thing. Some may be redeemed through the client or on Riot’s code redemption page. Do not assume the same steps apply to a prepaid gift card.

Why authorized sellers matter for your budget

Resold codes from auctions or unknown sellers often cost more than the card’s face value. They also carry the most risk. If a code turns out to be invalid, Riot states it cannot guarantee the code and cannot provide help. The money is then gone, and you have no recourse through Riot.

Buying only from a named retailer or an official partner costs the same as the card’s face value plus whatever the retailer charges. Compare the retailer’s listed price with the card’s value before you pay. Also check that the listing’s region matches the player’s server.

If the card does not work

• The card will not activate. Go back to the store that sold it, with the receipt and the card.
• The PIN is rejected in the client. Confirm you entered it in Purchase RP under Prepaid Cards, not on a website. Confirm the card matches the server on your account.
• The code came from a third party. Riot does not support codes obtained from outside sources or unofficial partner promotions. Contact the seller, not Riot, for a refund.

Buy League of Legends prepaid cards from a Riot-named retailer such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy or GameStop in the United States or Canada, or from an official retailer in Australia or New Zealand. Match the card’s region to the recipient’s server, keep the receipt, and redeem the PIN in the League client under Purchase RP then Prepaid Cards.
