It was not, by itself, proof that ChainGPT’s products were accurate, secure or commercially successful.
What event does the headline describe?
The event was “Where AI and Crypto Intersect,” held on September 20, 2024, at LeVeL33 in Singapore. Lunar Strategy organized it and Privasea co-hosted it, with ChainGPT presented as the featured project. What ChainGPT brought to the conversation
ChainGPT positioned itself as a crypto-specific AI layer rather than a general chatbot. The event coverage described tools for making blockchain work more accessible to non-specialists, including:
- Natural-language or assisted smart-contract generation.
- Smart-contract review and vulnerability analysis.
- Market, token and on-chain data analysis.
- AI-generated NFT creation and minting.
- Trading and technical-analysis assistance.
- Developer access through APIs and SDKs.
ChainGPT’s current product site lists a Web3 AI chatbot, Smart-Contracts Generator & Auditor, AI NFT Generator, AI Trading Assistant, API/SDK products, an AI Virtual Machine, ChainGPT Pad, DegenPad and CryptoGuard. Those are current first-party descriptions and should not be read as proof that every feature existed or operated in the same form in September 2024. (ChainGPT)
Why the smart-contract pitch resonated
Writing Solidity and understanding deployment permissions are significant barriers for newcomers. A user who can describe a desired contract in ordinary language may produce a draft faster than starting from an empty code editor. That is a meaningful accessibility proposition.

It is also a high-risk use case. ChainGPT says its tool can generate and audit Solidity, detect exploits, optimize gas usage and help deploy contracts. These are vendor claims, not evidence that an AI output is an audit-grade security review. (ChainGPT product claims)
Risks before any deployment
- Hallucinated functions, libraries or chain settings.
- Reentrancy, access-control, oracle and upgradeability vulnerabilities.
- Hidden minting, pausing or administrator privileges.
- Wallet signatures and transactions the user does not understand.
- Irreversible loss if a flawed contract is funded or promoted.
Generated code should be compiled, tested on a testnet, inspected line by line and reviewed by an independent security professional before handling real funds. An “audit” label from an AI interface does not replace that process.
What “AI meets crypto” meant technically

- AI analysis of blockchain and market data.
- Agents that control wallets or execute transactions.
- Decentralized model training or inference.
- Tokenized access to data, compute or models.
- Privacy-preserving computation on sensitive data.
The ChainGPT presentation appears to have emphasized user-facing assistance and workflow accessibility. It should not be portrayed as a demonstration of autonomous trading agents, decentralized model training or a new blockchain architecture unless separate evidence establishes that.
Privasea’s privacy angle
Privasea supplied the event’s privacy-oriented counterpoint. Its discussion was framed around Fully Homomorphic Encryption, a technique intended to let systems compute on encrypted data without first exposing the underlying plaintext. That is relevant because AI services may process personal, commercial or wallet-linked information. (Privasea)

Why Lunar Strategy’s role changes the reading
Lunar Strategy was not a neutral conference auditor; it organized the gathering. Its services include Web3 consulting, go-to-market strategy, social-media marketing, community management, influencer strategy, public relations and event management. (Lunar Strategy services)
That commercial context does not mean the event was fictitious. It means readers should separate three levels of certainty:

How to evaluate ChainGPT before using it
- Identify the product and version. A chatbot, code generator, analytics tool and launchpad carry different risks.
- Check whether the output is informational or executable. Recommendations are not the same as a transaction signed by your wallet.
- Verify data provenance. Ask which chains and providers are covered, how often data refreshes and whether timestamps or source references appear.
- Inspect code independently. Compile it, test it, review permissions and obtain professional review before deployment.
- Limit wallet exposure. Use a test wallet, minimal balances and restricted approvals rather than a primary savings wallet.
- Price the full transaction. Confirm gas, deployment fees, subscriptions and any staking or lock-up requirements.
- Review privacy terms. Determine whether prompts, wallet addresses or uploaded code are retained or shared.
- Separate utility from investment. A useful tool does not make the associated $CGPT token, staking opportunity or launchpad project a suitable investment.
What the event did—and did not—show
ChainGPT’s moment at TOKEN2049 week was a strong positioning exercise. It translated an abstract AI–crypto narrative into recognizable workflows: asking blockchain questions, drafting contracts, examining market data and creating NFTs. That practical framing helps explain why the project received attention.
It did not demonstrate that AI can replace developers, auditors, analysts or traders. Nor did it establish reliable data, secure code, production-ready privacy infrastructure or commercial traction. For personal-finance readers, the sensible conclusion is to treat ChainGPT as an experimental assistant whose outputs require independent verification—not as financial advice, a security guarantee or a reason to buy a token.
