What is the current Uber Eats drone-delivery schedule?
On August 17, 2026, Uber and drone-delivery company Zipline announced a partnership. Their stated plan was to begin the first Uber Eats deployments later in 2026, starting in Zipline’s existing markets and targeting expansion into dozens of U.S. cities. The announcement gave no exact public launch date or complete city list. Uber’s announcement describes a planned rollout, not confirmation that service has started.
As of October 8, 2026, the cited sources do not confirm a customer launch or identify eligible addresses. That leaves two practical questions unanswered: whether orders are live yet, and whether a particular address is in range. A planned deployment in a market does not establish that every customer there can use the service.
How do the Flytrex and Zipline plans differ?
Uber has announced two separate drone-delivery relationships for Uber Eats. Their stated timelines and geographic details are not interchangeable.

These announcements establish partnership plans, not comparative delivery performance or present-day customer availability. What does “in minutes” mean?
Uber and Zipline described drone orders as arriving “in minutes.” That is the companies’ stated proposition, not an independently verified delivery-time result for Uber Eats orders. Uber’s earlier Flytrex announcement similarly framed the partnership as an effort to bring drone delivery to the platform at scale. In that announcement, Uber President of Autonomous Mobility and Delivery Sarfraz Maredia said, “With Flytrex, we’re entering the next chapter—bringing the speed and sustainability of drone delivery to the Uber Eats platform, at scale, for the first time.” This is an executive’s description of the strategy, not proof of measured speed or environmental impact. What do the regulatory announcements establish?
They do not establish that Uber Eats or either partner has a particular authorization to deliver food to customers. The FAA’s August 31, 2026 announcement concerned a remotely piloted hybrid-electric cargo demonstration at Houma-Terrebonne Airport. The agency said it would use demonstration findings to identify gaps and support safe integration of advanced air mobility into the national airspace; the announcement did not identify Uber, Flytrex, Zipline, or approval for an Uber Eats service. Those are Zipline-reported figures, not measures of Uber Eats orders or restaurant delivery performance. The cited announcements do not provide an address-eligibility checker or a list of live Uber Eats locations. To verify availability, use the Uber Eats app or website for your delivery address and check whether a drone-delivery option appears for an eligible order. Until Uber publishes a consumer-facing launch notice or the option appears for your address, the announced schedule should be treated as a plan rather than proof that you can place a drone order.
