Delta is not scheduled to bring its Airbus A350-1000s into service in 2026. The airline has ordered 20 of the aircraft, but its media kit says deliveries are expected to begin in early 2027. The available official sources do not verify nine airlines operating A350-1000 flights to or from the United States during 2026.
What is confirmed about Delta’s A350-1000?
Airbus announced Delta’s order for 20 A350-1000s on 12 January 2024. Delta’s media kit, dated 29 July 2026, says deliveries will begin in early 2027—not 2026. The delivery date is Delta’s published forecast; it does not establish when the aircraft will enter passenger service or which routes they will fly. Delta’s A350 media kit and Airbus’s order announcement provide those details.
Delta says the aircraft are intended for long-haul international and hub-to-hub missions, but has not named initial routes in its media kit. An aircraft order or delivery forecast alone cannot confirm a scheduled U.S. route.
Are nine airlines bringing the A350-1000 to the United States in 2026?
The available official evidence does not substantiate that claim. Airbus’s June 2026 list records firm orders for the A350 family; it is not a schedule of deliveries or U.S. flights. Airbus reports 1,595 firm orders from 68 customers across the A350 family, a figure that includes aircraft other than the A350-1000 and does not show how many serve the United States. Airbus’s A350 firm-order list should not be read as an airline route list.

To establish a count of airlines serving the United States with the A350-1000 in a particular year, each case needs evidence of the aircraft variant, operating carrier, route, and service date. The sources cited here do not provide that route-by-route confirmation for nine airlines in 2026.
What has Delta announced about the aircraft and cabin?
Delta’s media kit describes the A350-1000 as a widebody for long-haul international and hub-to-hub flying. The planned aircraft will use Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines and include Delta One Suites, Premium Select, Comfort, and Main cabins. Delta also lists free Wi-Fi and large seatback screens as planned features. These are published plans for aircraft not yet delivered to the airline.

In an announcement on 13 April 2026, Delta said its next-generation Delta One suite would debut on the A350-1000. The airline describes a reverse-herringbone layout, a 24-inch screen, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and accessibility features. It also says every cabin will have memory-foam cushions, USB-C ports, and international AC power outlets. These are announced cabin specifications, not features verified in passenger service. Delta’s cabin announcement has the published details.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian said of the order, “The A350-1000 will be the largest, most capable aircraft in Delta’s fleet and is an important step forward for our international expansion.” That statement accompanied Airbus’s 12 January 2024 order announcement; it does not identify routes or a service date.
