What the January 2025 report says
An iNews report reproduced by PressBee described a tense exchange between Sheffield Wednesday supporters and owner Dejphon Chansiri at a January 2025 supporters’ forum. The report quotes a club spokesperson, not an MP, as saying: “The chairman does not see it as his responsibility to find a buyer when he has no intention of selling the club,”

The same spokesperson reportedly added: “However, if fans want him to sell then of course they must bring a legitimate buyer to the table.”
What is—and is not—verified about the MP claim
The report supports that a club spokesperson expressed a position of no intention to sell in connection with the forum. It does not identify an MP making the claim in the title, provide an MP’s exact words, or establish when or where an MP supposedly said it. The title phrase “no interest in selling” should therefore not be treated as a verified direct quote from an MP.

The available reporting also does not establish whether Chansiri or Sheffield Wednesday made a later statement about a sale. The January 2025 account cannot confirm the owner’s position as of October 2026.

A Sheffield Tribune feature described divided reactions among fans to the club’s crisis, including boycotting matches, spending less at the ground, and declining to buy merchandise. It also reported late wage payments and a transfer embargo as part of that dated account; those claims do not establish the club’s current financial or regulatory position.

For readers considering the issue from a personal-finance perspective, the distinction is between reported supporter actions and verified information about ownership or the club’s present finances. A fan’s decision to stop spending at the ground is not evidence that a sale is under way or that the owner has changed his position.
