These were offers from one local dealer, not nationwide Honda deals, and they are expired. The monthly payment was only one part of each offer: buyers also had to account for cash due at signing, taxes and fees, mileage limits, eligibility and other terms.

What does the advertised monthly payment leave out?
A lease payment is not the same as the total amount you will pay to lease a vehicle. For the Accord, multiplying the advertised $249 by 36 gives the listed $8,964 in scheduled payments. That figure does not include the $1,995 down payment or the first payment, tax, title and DMV charges listed as due at signing. Local taxes, fees and the final quote can differ.

Use the same checklist for every quote. A low monthly payment is not enough to show that one deal is better than another, particularly when eligibility, due-at-signing costs or mileage allowances differ.
- Payment and term: Record the monthly payment and number of payments.
- Cash due at signing: Separate the down payment from the first payment and taxes or fees due at delivery.
- Total cost components: Check scheduled payments alongside charges excluded from them, including tax, title, registration and dealer fees.
- Mileage: Compare the total allowance and the charge for each excess mile against your expected driving.
- Fees and responsibilities: Note acquisition fees, any security deposit, maintenance terms and excess-wear obligations.
- Eligibility and vehicle availability: Verify credit requirements, loyalty or conquest conditions, exact model and trim, retail-stock availability and delivery deadline.
- Geography and timing: Confirm the offer for your ZIP code and whether it is still within its advertised dates.
