Vivrato is a video game industry advisory company founded by Adam Boyes. Launched on January 22, 2025, it offers strategic and operational support to developers, publishers and other industry participants. Boyes’s pitch is that advisers who have made games can help studios work through business and production challenges with practical experience, not just outside analysis.
Who is Adam Boyes?
Boyes is a longtime video game executive who was co-CEO of Iron Galaxy before leaving the company in August 2024, according to GamesBeat’s launch coverage. He introduced Vivrato the following January, positioning it as a consultancy built around people with firsthand experience in the game business.
In his launch statement, Boyes wrote: “The video game industry doesn’t need another consultancy looking at challenges from a distance.” He argued that lasting change requires partners who have experienced the work of making games. That is Boyes’s rationale for Vivrato’s approach, rather than an independently established claim about the industry as a whole.
What does Vivrato do?
At launch, Boyes described Vivrato’s services to GamesBeat as “high-level strategy, crisis management, and mentorship that can only come from experience.” The company’s later description broadened the practical examples: in an August 7, 2025 announcement, Vivrato said it supports work such as deal negotiation, team structuring and go-to-market planning.

Those examples suggest a B2B advisory service for organizations navigating decisions about how to operate, structure teams, negotiate business arrangements or bring games to market. The public descriptions do not specify standard engagement lengths, fees, or a menu of fixed packages.
Why did Boyes start Vivrato?
Boyes told GamesBeat that conversations with developers and executives about recurring industry problems helped prompt the company. He has also emphasized that games are creative work as well as commercial products: “Games are an expression of heart and soul, not just products,” he said in the interview.
Vivrato’s operator-centric positioning follows from that view: the company says its advice draws on experience working inside the industry. The public launch materials establish its intended method and service areas, but do not report independently verified client outcomes or demonstrate how effective its advice has been.
How Vivrato developed after launch
The company’s public timeline shows a shift from a founder-led launch description to a larger advisory roster:
- August 2024: Boyes left Iron Galaxy, where he had been co-CEO, GamesBeat reported.
- January 22, 2025: Boyes introduced Vivrato, and GamesBeat published an interview about the launch.
- August 7, 2025: Vivrato said it had added nine consultants and described the additions as a new phase for the consultancy.
The nine additions are a company-reported figure tied to that August announcement, not an independently audited current headcount. Vivrato’s LinkedIn profile describes it as a video game industry management consultancy using an operator-centric approach and lists Chicago as its headquarters; profile details can change.
