Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →If a prediction market blocks your account or a withdrawal, first identify exactly what is restricted, save the relevant records, and contact the operator through its official support or appeal channel. Ask for the reason, the status of your funds and open positions, any verification required, and the next step in writing. The right remedy depends on the specific company, product, jurisdiction, account terms, and reason for the restriction; no general withdrawal deadline or guaranteed outcome applies.
Identify what is blocked and which service holds the account
A sign-in failure, a ban on trading, an account under review, a withdrawal marked pending, and a wallet-level restriction are different problems. Record the exact notice and when it appeared. Identify the company named in your account records and the product you used; one operator may run separate U.S. and international services with different rules.

This distinction can matter for funds as well as access. For example, Polymarket describes its U.S. and International services as separate products. Its International service is non-custodial: users hold their own private keys, and collateral for open positions is held in a smart contract. A platform restriction, access to a wallet, collateral in an open position, and withdrawal processing may therefore be separate issues. The exact mechanics depend on the wallet, chain, contract, and applicable rules.
Polymarket says users in the United States and other restricted jurisdictions cannot trade on Polymarket International, and that circumventing the restriction violates its terms. Do not use a VPN, alternate account, or another method to bypass a location restriction. See the operator’s Trust & Safety Hub and its description of governance, supervision, and enforcement for its stated policies.

Preserve records before contacting support
Save copies of the notice, relevant emails, support tickets, account balance and open-position screens, withdrawal reference or request ID, dates, and any transaction hash or payment-method records that apply. Keep the records in a private, secure place. Do not post passwords, full payment credentials, recovery phrases, or private keys publicly or send them in an ordinary support email.
These records help you describe what happened and give the operator specific references to investigate. The information needed will vary by service and by whether the issue concerns an account, a payment, an open position, or a wallet.

Send a concise, specific support request
Use the help or contact route inside the service or on its verified website. Identify the account through the operator’s secure process; include the restriction or withdrawal reference, relevant date, and the action you want reviewed. Ask for a case number and keep the response in writing.
Request clear answers to these questions:
- What is the specific reason for the restriction or withdrawal delay, and which rule or term applies?
- Is identity, payment, or source-of-funds verification required? If so, what secure submission process should you use?
- Are the funds available to withdraw, held as collateral, or tied to an open position?
- What actions, if any, can you take while the review is pending?
- What is the appeal route, and when should you expect the next status update?
Ask for a case-specific timeline rather than assuming a standard processing period. The applicable terms and facts of the individual case determine what can be said about timing.
Use the operator’s published appeal process
Follow the route stated in the restriction notice or the operator’s official help materials. For Polymarket, the Trust & Safety Hub says users can appeal through a link in the notice or email [email protected]. It says users may provide context and receive the rationale for the decision. That is an operator-specific process, not a universal procedure for prediction markets.
Consider external options only after checking eligibility
If the venue and product are within the relevant U.S. regulatory framework, the CFTC’s customer guidance says customers with problems may seek help through its Reparations Program or NFA arbitration. These are possible routes, not a determination that a particular dispute qualifies or that a regulator or arbitration will recover funds. Check the venue’s registration, the entity and product involved, the forum’s eligibility requirements, and any applicable deadlines before proceeding. The CFTC also points consumers toward other agencies for other financial-service categories. Start with its customer guidance on checking registration and backgrounds.
Kalshi describes itself as regulated by the CFTC as a Designated Contract Market in its help-center explanation of its regulation. An operator’s description is not an adjudication of an individual dispute; check current CFTC records and the rules applicable to the specific entity and product.
Regulatory developments do not by themselves resolve account complaints. In an August 11, 2026 release, the CFTC described an active dispute involving Kalshi and New York and said it had exercised emergency authority and ordered continued operation under the Commodity Exchange Act’s Core Principles. That was a dated statement about a jurisdictional dispute, not a decision on any individual customer’s blocked account or withdrawal. Read the CFTC release in that context.

Keep the account, funds, and claim distinct
In follow-up correspondence, state what you know and distinguish it from what the operator has told you. A login restriction does not necessarily mean funds have been forfeited; a pending withdrawal does not establish that a platform can release assets held outside its custody; and self-custody does not guarantee unrestricted access. Ask the operator to explain which part of the process is blocked and what evidence supports its explanation. Avoid treating an allegation, a platform’s account of events, or a broader regulatory dispute as a verified finding about your own account.
