After sending, monitor the deposit and verify the credited balance. Before withdrawing, check the destination chain and address again.
1. Confirm the exact asset and source network
A token symbol by itself is not enough to establish support: the same symbol can refer to different tokens on different networks. Identify the source chain and the token’s contract or asset identifier, then check that exact combination against the selected bridge’s current supported-token list. NEAR’s deposit guide directs users to check supported_tokens for the relevant chains; its response includes asset identifiers and token-specific deposit and withdrawal information. NEAR documentation describes Omni Bridge as its primary multichain bridge and PoA Bridge as an alternative for assets Omni Bridge does not support. It lists Bitcoin, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Solana, and TON among Omni Bridge’s networks, but network availability does not mean every token on that network is supported. Check the live asset list for the precise token before proceeding. See NEAR’s bridge overview.
2. Check which bridge path applies
Use the current support information to determine whether the asset can use Omni Bridge or whether the documented alternative, PoA Bridge, is relevant. Compare the paths on whether your exact asset and network are supported, what steps the selected flow requires, and the current minimums and fees it displays. The cited NEAR pages do not establish a complete current comparison of the bridges’ security, speed, or cost, so do not assume one is better on those grounds.

3. Generate and verify the recipient address
Request a deposit_address for the specific account and source chain that should receive the funds. Verify that the returned address belongs to the intended account and is for the intended chain before sending. NEAR’s guide says deposit addresses are unique to each account_id; it explicitly warns not to send funds to the example address shown in the guide. Follow the deposit-address instructions.
4. Check the amount and costs in the live flow
Before authorizing the source-chain transaction, inspect the current minimum deposit, any applicable deposit or withdrawal fees, and the source-chain transaction cost. The supported_tokens response contains token-specific minimum and fee fields, but sample values in documentation are not a live quote and do not establish universal current amounts. Check the values for your asset in the actual bridge response or interface at the time you act.

- Confirm your transfer meets the displayed minimum for that exact asset.
- Account for the source network’s transaction cost as well as any bridge or withdrawal fee shown.
- Do not infer that a small transfer is economical or recoverable simply because NEAR’s FAQ recommends starting small in its Bitcoin-deposit scenario.
5. Track the deposit after sending
Keep the source-chain transaction reference and use the bridge’s deposit status to follow the transfer. NEAR’s FAQ describes deposit records as pending, completed, or failed. Once the status indicates completion, check the balance in the intended NEAR Intents account rather than assuming the source-chain transaction alone confirms that the funds have arrived. If a deposit is failed or remains unresolved, use the official support route. NEAR’s FAQ says failed deposits are currently handled manually; it does not promise automatic recovery or specify a universal resolution time.

6. Verify the exit route before withdrawing
Before withdrawing to another chain, confirm the destination network, token, and address. NEAR’s withdrawal example uses a WITHDRAW_TO memo that includes the destination address, so inspect the memo and withdrawal details before signing. A correct address on the wrong network can still send funds to an unintended destination. Review the withdrawal instructions.
If the route includes a swap
Review the swap quote, including the expected output and its expiration, before signing and publishing the swap intent. A quote is time-limited; if it expires, obtain and review a current quote rather than relying on the old one. See NEAR Intents’ swap guidance.

Pre-transfer checklist
- Exact source network and token identifier checked against the live support list.
- Correct bridge path selected for that asset.
- Deposit address generated for the intended account and verified for the source chain.
- Current minimum, applicable fees, and source-chain transaction cost reviewed.
- Transaction reference saved, with a plan to check deposit status and the receiving balance.
- Destination chain, token, address, and any swap quote checked before a later withdrawal.
